God doesn't always behave in the way that we think he should. In this remarkable account of the death of one of Jesus' beloved friends, we see that Jesus' temporary inaction is fueled not by disinterest, but by a deeper, eternal, unbreakable love. Jesus is the resurrection and the life. In him there is always hope!
Standing outside the temple, Jesus makes a bold claim: He, not some religious system, is the light of the world. Those who follow him have the true light, but everyone else stays in darkness. The religious leaders didn't miss a beat - they picked up stones to kill him - but while they are busy being upset, Jesus is about to bring new light, life, and color to a man who has only lived in deep darkness.
Sometimes the commands of Christ make no sense to us, and may even lead us into difficult or dangerous situations. When this happens, we may be tempted to think that we made a mistake, but we must remember that faith, obedience, and stormy weather are often inseparable from one another.
In life we often feel completely overwhelmed with our inadequacy. In the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000, however, we see that God is in the business of doing more than we could possibly ask or imagine as we place our faith in him and not in our own resources.
In his most extensive claim to deity, Jesus, after healing an invalid of 38 years, declares that He is equal to God in nature, works, power, authority, honor, and truth thereby making him absolutely unique in all of history.

If we are to live with God for all eternity, we need to go through a massive change. There's only one problem, the change cannot come from us. We need to be made new.
Jesus brings joy into every area of life, and the joy that he gives is abundant and overflowing, with the best coming last.

The invitation to follow Jesus is a call to adventure, to purpose, to forgiveness, to sacrifice and to eternal life. Will you follow him?
