And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,

10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;     I will be exalted among the nations,     I will be exalted in the earth.” 11 The Lord Almighty is with us;     the God of Jacob is our fortress

7 The Lord Almighty is with us;     the God of Jacob is our fortress. 8 Come and see what the Lord has done,     the desolations he has brought on the earth. 9 He makes wars cease     to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;     he burns the shields with fire.

4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,     the holy place where the Most High dwells. 5 God is within her, she will not fall;     God will help her at break of day. 6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;     he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

1 God is our refuge and strength,     an ever-present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way     and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam     and the mountains quake with their surging.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.  Do what it says.

But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing,because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.

for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”[a] 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
