The Hot Steaming Pod

Who doesn’t like getting an award?  We don’t know because we don’t get them.  Award shows however need to get with the times and feed into a proper category!  Listen to what Biggy, Alana, Joe and Scott come up with new award shows and categories!  That and the last Trivia game we can play with years as next weeks show would take us into the future.  Can you answer trivia questions about the year we are still in? Take it to the test. Get it while it’s hot!

Dare to try new things.  That is what someone would say usually before hurting themselves.  I’m happy to report that there were no injuries in the make of this pod but we are trying a slightly new format and trying to integrate a few new things like Periscope and talking about local Australian things.  I know.  Daring. Plus trivia from 2014!  It’s possibly our easiest trivia game to date. Get it while it’s hot!

A lot of people do the ole “Netflix and Chill” but there are many other streaming services.  How about Amazon Prime and “Business” Time?  Hulu & Do You? Presto and Breasto? And for those into “solo” efforts.  There’s Stan and your hand!  It’s catchy.  We’d put it on a shirt if we wouldn’t get sued!  We have a big show back in the studio since our live shows as Biggy is MIA but we have guest comedian MJ Wong and TV critic Steve Molk (check him out at molktvtalk.com)  There is a BIG point winner in the trivia as well that we Periscoped for the first time!  Follow us on Periscope @LateNiteMedia!

It’s our final live show as part of the 2015 Brisbane Fringe Festival and it has been a massive time!  We want to thank everyone that came out to see us and take part in the fun.  We also want to thank the wonderful Lock’N’Load Bistro for having us for the two shows.  They are an amazing venue and if you are ever in West End Brisbane you should check them out.  Joe is off doing a gig for this show so in his place is the amazing comedic legend that is Joel Bryant!  Joel joins Biggy, Alana and Scott as they talking about AbbottLovesAnal and the messed up world that we live in.  All this and trivia from the distant year of 2012!  Get it while it’s hot!

The “fun” in moving web servers….like the fun of getting punched by a drunk nun that happens to be your estranged mother.  True story.  Not really.  But to make it all better here is some mini-episode fun from our second LIVE podcast as part of the Brisbane Fringe Festival for 2015!  Joe is missing in action, he had a paid gig, so in his place is a comedy legend in Joel Bryant!  This is our warm up before getting into the big pod that will drop next Wednesday!  Enjoy.

What lurks beneath the waves?  Probably some sand a bit more water but Sharks are the big topic of our Trivia today.  Biggy is missing, though we don’t think that it’s shark related, but this leaves Joe, Alana, and Scott to talk about setting up our own get rich quick churches, what celebrity would make the best world leader, and things that might sound sweet but are actually hella creepy! This and trivia from 2010 with some nice shark flavoring. Get it while it’s hot!

Sometimes life let’s you rediscover something that was once thought lost.  Ages ago Scott and his best friend Ashe sat down and did a tribute to the classic Derek & Clive albums.  It was thought lost only to be rediscovered on a dusty hard drive found in the garage.  So while the regular team has the week off to prepare for our two LIVE shows for the Brisbane Fringe Festival please enjoy this bat crap crazy edition of the pod!

We celebrate the man, the myth, the rebel, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper by dedicating this Hot Steaming Pod to him.  Also, with the recent Australian politicians starting to get in trouble for the crazy “above the law” antics that they do Alana, Joe, Biggy and Scott contemplate the other things that our politicians do illegally that wouldn’t surprise us.  We also discuss what humorous and embarrassing punishments they should face for these actions.  In our #NotRealTalk we discuss what inanimate objects are our nemesis, what three things you could buy from a convenience store to creep out the cashier, and what human genetic modification would we want. For this week’s trivia we power up the time circuits and hit the popular culture of the year 2008.  So long ago.

When you organise a show you think that it will run exactly how you plan.  This show doesn’t.  There is a waring production next door the topics go ALL over the shop and some people are accused of murder. Oh and there is Trivia from 2007.  Fun times.

So when we coined the phrase “beard tongue” we had no idea that it was already coined….and put as a name for a flower.  Who woulda thunk it?  We have a different take on the meaning but you are going to have to listen to this episode to get that.  We discuss the monumental download of “The Young Turks” that hit over 2 Billion!  We also talk about TV show cross overs that NEED to happen and childhood must have toys.  Add some trivia from the year 2006 and, brother, you got yourself a stew! GET IT WHILE IT’S HOT!

Outside of talking about cake the word “moist” brings a massive cringe factor.  Well, the only way to overcome a problem like this is to hear the word….a lot.  Alana, Biggy, Joe and Scott talk about all the awesome things from this years Comic Con, have a massive Trivia game about 2005 pop culture and discuss the important topics:  What would a super villian’s kickstarter contribution rewards would be?  SCIENCE!
