Express Yourself!

Summary: Express Yourself! is an entertaining adolescent fusion program where passion, productivity, and possibility populate the airwaves. Produced by Starstyle Productions, LLC as an international outreach program of Be the Star You Are! charity, the radio program, Express Yourself! is a show for, by, and about teens. Hosted by teens and teenage field reporters from around the country, Express Yourself! is THE destination for teens to be heard. Within the walls of the young adult community, listeners are uplifted and encouraged to be the stars of your own life. Through collaboration and conversation, a global campus of young people express their views. Topics include anything that kids talk about-books, music, making a difference, technology, school, art, humor, writing, tough talks, health, sports, films, family, friends, foes, fashion, and fun. Are you ever too young to be an entrepreneur? Not according to our co-hosts Younghoo Ahn and Katelyn Darrow and their special teen guest, Hart Main. Katelyn explains how she founded The Angels Clothing Closet charity at age 12 and it’s going stronger than ever. Hart Main, currently age 16 began his successful company, Man Cans at age 13, making candles that have scents that are interesting to men. All of the candles are made inside a recycled soup can; the can is first purchased by the business and donated to soup kitchens and homeless shelters across Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and into West Virginia. Hart has been able to donate 65,000 cans of soup, expand his product line of scents, hire three part time employees besides himself, and expand his sales from online to 130 stores, catalogs, fundraisers and corporate marketing merchandise. He’s been on several TV shows and the subject of much media publicity, including receiving a commendation letter from Mrs. Obama.

You’ll hear from Keenan Todd, a San Francisco State University student. spoken word artist, poet, and entrepreneur who founded the clothing company, CaliExclusive as well as a sophomore at Cal Berkeley, Valerie Cordier Rice who is studying to be an astrophysicist with a goal of working with NASA. Nature Calls Reporter, Isaiah Rankin recounts his vision of what America represents to him by explaining the history of the national animal, the regal Bald Eagle.
