UNW Chapel

Faith leader, social innovator, and Co-Founder of the Global Immersion Project, Jer Swigart, speaks in UNW chapel as a part of Missions Week. Jer shares a part of his story working in the Middle East and encourages students to seek out the mission of God.

The Spiritual Formation team leads UNW chapel into a time of prayer over the Intercultural Studies Trip, UNW campus, and the United States. This audio recording includes times of silence to pray as directed and ends with a time of students praying specifically for UNW campus.

UNW students share their stories and experiences with their fellow peers in chapel on October 4, 2016. This student panel was a part of the themed week titled, "How are we with each other: Stewarding our Attitudes, Words, and Actions."

Nina Barnes, Dean of Spiritual Formation, seeks to start a conversation regarding reconciliation through the discussion of conflict and disunity. Her message stems from Luke 10:25-37, The Parable of the Good Samaritan, is a part of the themed week titled, "How are we with Each Other: Stewarding our Attitudes, Words, and Actions."

Jenna Thompson, Spiritual Formation Associate, leads UNW chapel into a time of intercessory prayer over six areas: friendships, families, the United States nation, UNW campus, UNW president and cabinet, and the world as a whole. This audio recording includes a 20-minute time of silence designated for prayer. 

Amanda Cornelius, founder and owner of the mental health clinic Wellspring Group in New Brighton, MN, speaks in UNW chapel as a part of Friendship Week. This themed week focused on relationships and friendships in general. Amanda spoke on four elements that will help take relationships to a deeper level. UNW President Alan Cureton encourages students in prayer chapel to live based off of Micah 6:8, "He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God." In response, Nina Barnes reads Luke 10:25-37 and leads students into a time of prayer. This chapel includes about ten minutes of silence to reflect and pray.

Lead Pastors of Grove Community Church, Josh and Katie Krehbiel, speak in chapel as a part of Homecoming Week about their time as students in UNW and how it has driven their passion for the Lord. 

Ryan Daniel, UNW alum and reggae/hip hop artist, shares his journey in chapel as a part of Homecoming Week. During his message, Ryan Daniel references one of his songs, "Battle Cry:" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noRQ9_SWLKY.

Chris Bechtel, Campus Pastor of River Valley Church in Shakopee, shares a message on identity from Matthew 3:13-17 as a part of Identity Week. 

Nina Barnes, Dean of Spiritual Formation, shares a part of her story during Identity Week and speaks about being sustained by knowing God's love. By looking into several passages of Scripture, Nina then discusses how the fruit of spiritual formation is loving and living more like Jesus.

Jenna Thompson, Spiritual Formation Associate, leads UNW chapel into a time of practicing "Lectio Divina" with Psalm 63:1-5. This practice includes times of silence and reflection.

Mary March, Connections and Community Life Pastor at New City Covenant Church, shares from 2 Corinthians 5:15-20 on how to reorient one's life to live for their specific purpose as Christ's followers.

UNW staff members Paul Bradley, Nina Barnes, and April Stensgard discuss spiritual gifts, strengths, and seeing God as the ultimate creator and designer.
