Matthew Sexton: An Action Sports Athlete Turned Hotelier | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 22:19

Matthew Sexton, Owner of Grassy Flats Resort & Beach Club in Marathon, Florida that is an eco-friendly boutique resort located at Mile Marker 58 in the heart of the Florida Keys joins Enterprise Radio. Listen to host Eric Dye & guest Matthew Sexton discuss the following: *  Tell us a bit about yourself and your athletic background.  * What made you decide to call the Florida Keys home? * Tell us about Grassy Flats Resort & Beach Club. What makes the property special? * We understand that Grassy Flats Resort & Beach Club is an eco-friendly resort. What makes the resort eco-friendly? Are there special initiatives in place to protect the environment? * Grassy Flats Resort & Beach Club is currently undergoing renovations. Can you tell us what travelers can expect to see when renovations are completed? * We know that Grassy Flats Resort & Beach Club also has a sister property for the adventurous traveler. What can travelers expect when visiting The Lagoon on Grassy Key? * What are some important things that travelers who plan to visit you to try watersports need to know?  Matthew Sexton, Owner of Grassy Flats Resort & Beach Club and The Lagoon on Grassy Key Matthew Sexton is a modern-day Renaissance man of the tropics. He is also a serial entrepreneur with an entertainingly diverse set of skills and interests. A former action sports athlete turned hotelier; he is a restauranteur and entertainer with a passion for sustainability, education, and culture. At 35, Sexton is one of the youngest developers in the Florida Keys. While he prefers the title rehabilitator over developer, it is undeniable that he is helping to shape the future of the Middle Keys as it reaches maximum buildable densities. As a decade-long resident of Grassy Key, Sexton operates Grassy Flats Resort and Beach Club and The Lagoon on Grassy Key. Grassy Flats Resort and Beach Club is a sustainable watersports-oriented boutique resort reborn from the bones of three conjoined – and now defunct – mom-and-pop resorts. With only 38 guest rooms, Grassy Flats is still on the small side in terms of Keys resorts — and that is precisely how Sexton intends it to stay: small, personable, nostalgic, and focused on quality amenities and great experiences. The Lagoon, located just a mile away, is an island-style day resort and adventure park called The Lagoon, complete with a craft beer bar, botanical garden, surf shop, and a floating terrain park for wakeboarders and board sport enthusiasts. Turning an abandoned industrial fish farm into the Florida Keys’ only licensed amusement park set the path for Sexton’s entry into the ever-booming Florida Keys hotel market. Originally from New England, Sexton moved to Florida at 18-years-old, setting up his first watersports company in Saint Petersburg, FL. Primarily focused on board-sport instruction and event production, Sexton also traveled with several brands to help market and develop new equipment. After eight years of living out of trucks, airplanes, board bags, and hammocks, he finally landed on Grassy Key, where his primary projects all currently take place. Most of the year, Sexton can be found spending his days doing a number of things, from working with tourists and locals and cultivating his tropical fruit farms to milling naturally-fallen tropical hardwood, working with street artists, or foil-boarding with his crew somewhere in Hawks Channel. A breath of fresh air from the corporate overhaul that has transformed the Florida Keys over the last 30 years, Sexton and his properties feel like an authentic flashback to the days of old, storied by artists, recluses, smugglers, and salty conchs.

The Secret Lives of Customers: A Detective Story About Solving the Mystery of Customer Behavior | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 14:10

David Scott Duncan, a managing director at Innosight, where he works with leaders to create customer-centric teams, strategies, and organizations joins Enterprise Radio. Duncan is the author of The Secret Lives of Customers: A Detective Story About Solving the Mystery of Customer Behavior. This episode of Enterprise Radio is in association with the Author Channel. Listen to host Eric Dye & guest David Scott Duncan discuss the following: * The Secret Lives of Customers is written in a two-part format, the first being fictional. Why did you choose a fiction format? * The top message of your book is that in order to understand your customers you “need to think like a market detective.” Can you explain what that means? * You state that customers have “jobs to be done” and they “hire” companies. Can you give some examples? * How have things changed since the pandemic in the way we serve customers and meet their needs? * Who in an organization or company would benefit from your book – beyond the sales and marketing teams? * One of the key takeaways from the book is that organizations rely too much on market research and complicated data science to interpret customer behavior. What are some of the more practical methods that are missing today? David Scott Duncan, author of The Secret Lives of Customers, is a managing director at Innosight, where he works with leaders to create customer centric teams, strategies, and organizations. He is the co-author of two previous books, including the Wall Street Journal bestseller Competing Against Luck: The Story of Innovation and Customer Choice, written with the late Harvard Business School professor Clayton Christensen. A leading authority on the theory and application of jobs to be done, Duncan has extensive experience conducting market investigations around the world.  Amplify Your Social Selling by humanizing your brand and establishing REAL connections with clients | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 24:56

Ethan Kramer, the Founder and CEO of Ethan Kramer Creative, a boutique digital marketing agency that specializes in working with social and live selling fashion boutiques joins Enterprise Radio. He has over 10 years digital marketing experience working with startups, Fortune 500 companies, and some of the world’s largest ad agencies. Listen to host Eric Dye & guest Ethan Kramer discuss the following: * What is your background? How did you get into social and live selling for fashion boutiques? * Why should small businesses and fashion boutiques consider live selling to grow their sales? * What are some recommendations and advice you give to your own clients on how to improve their social and live selling efforts. * You are the first CommentSold certified Partner. Why do you use the platform? Why do you recommend others do as well? * What is your ad agency doing differently that has allowed you to grow so fast in such a short period of time? * How can businesses establish more real connections with their clients online? * What is some advice you have for entrepreneurs new to using Facebook Ads? * What does the future of the live selling space look like? Ethan Kramer is the Founder of Ethan Kramer Creative, an agency that focuses exclusively on social and live selling eCommerce campaigns for boutique fashion shops. They are the first agency to be awarded CommentSold Certified Partner Status. The team is also a Facebook Marketing Partner and a Manychat Agency Partner. In short, Ethan Kramer Creative helps people find new customers and grow their monthly revenue with ads. However, what differentiates the agency is their sole focus and understanding of social/ live selling and work with a specific niche (in addition to their outstanding results). They specialize in the new, fast growth, live selling industry as an advertising agency that has solutions with guidance, daily management, and more, that this client and this newly developing field is lacking . They also help clients understand how the industry is trending and what they need to do to get to the next level, what ads work, how to leverage the personality behind their brand and how to take control of their long term sales with apps, Facebook groups and more. “We sell their personalities and not their clothes, we sell their communities and not their websites. We replace the in-store experience and help their clients get a better idea of the clothes they will buy before they do.” says Ethan. Plus, they operate as the “anti ad agency” in a space known for it’s false promises and unethical tactics, we flip the switch. With over 25 years combined agency experience, we decided to keep all the good, and remove all the bad, to create the agency of our (and our client’s) dreams.
