The Perfecting Church

Facing our giants is about growing in faith. We are more than what we see right now. We've been called to do more than we're doing right now. We're bigger than the challenge that might have us pinned to the ground right now. But overcoming what's in front of us and moving beyond our present circumstances is totally dependent upon our faith. More than anything faith is what pleases God. He knows faith is the only thing that transforms lives. Faith was the one thing Jesus was always trying to stimulate and develop in His disciples. Jesus knew then, what we must know now. If we are going to overcome the giants we will have to learn to trust and believe in a greater way.

More than anything God is a Father. Father is His most elevated title and function. The highest distinction, function and title a man can carry is that of father. Nothing we do in this lifetime is as significant as being a father. Nothing we do during this lifetime is a more powerful evidence of our God likeness than being a father. True transformation for a male begins not when he has children but when he begins to grasp and identify with the profound truth of being a father. The moment a man truly realizes he is a father he forever sees women, children, communities and society differently. He begins to become a portrait of the Father.

Do you realize having a relationship with God is steadily losing its place as a focal-point in society today? Society as a whole is getting further and further away from God. Look around, what bothers you? As believers we are increasingly finding ourselves on the outside looking in. If we don’t learn to live in this “new” society we will find ourselves becoming irrelevant to God and our neighbors. We can not be a part of solving today’s problems by removing ourselves in some futile attempt to protect our values. Solving problems can and will happen only by living out our values in the midst of others. Let's be REVOLUTIONARY in our thinking and more importantly in our doing. Society is counting on us -- more importantly, God is counting on us!

The Problem Solver sees, thinks and lives differently. They see themselves as in the world but they wouldn't describe themselves as a product of the world. The problem solver doesn't describe their life in light of the problems and challenges they've faced or are facing. They describe their life in light of the potential and purpose they have and are discovering. The problem solver sees challenges as something working for them rather than something working against them. For them the problems and challenges are the very thing that cause the Greater One in them to arise. With each challenge their dependency upon Christ increases and their discovery of who and what they are in Him becomes more apparent. They are problem solvers.

The primary tool for the problem solver is faith. The problem solver is not trapped and limited by what appears to be. They see beyond what is seen into what can be seen only by faith. They don't ignore the present reality but they see it as somehting that is temporary and waiting to be changed. Each and every one of us carries the potential and ability to be His problem solvers. We all have been designed to solve specific problems in this present world. We don't need to be consumed with what those problems are. We need to be consumed with giving ourselves to living by His faith.

God is doing something new in our lives and in the body of Christ. Our ability to recognize what He is doing positions us to flow with Him and be a part His purposes. We must be willing forget what was, in order to embrace what is now. He is constantly calling us forward-will you recognize it.

We are spirits. We possess souls. We live in bodies. We were designed to be in covenant relationship with God and one another. The problems and issues that trouble us and move us deeply are clues to the assignments we've been placed here to solve. The things that excite us and captivate us are clues to why we are here. If money was not a concern what problems would you be willing to give your 31K days here to solve? What would your life look like if you took courage, excercised your God given difference and became God's Uncommon Love to this pitch-black world?

God's eternal purpose existed long before the earth was established. His desire has always been to extend the community of the heavenly family here into the earth. ElShaddai, the almighty God led a family in heaven that included the Son and the Holy Spirit. He made us in their image and after their likeness. His eternal purpose has been to extend the heavenly family by creating a community of families here in the earth that live in covenant with Him. As we learn to live in the power and promises of that covenant we create that community of families and become His problem solvers here in the earth.

In the beginning, the first six days of creation God handled everything alone. He looked only to Himself to initiate, incubate and reproduce His will here in the earth. But on day six He created a creature that was very different from all the others. This creature was made in His image and after His likeness with the unique ability to reproduce His will here in the earth on His behalf. Truth is God created each one of us as a solution to a need that He foresaw. We are all a part of something bigger and more far reaching than our own will and plan. Each of us caries a piece of God's eternal plan for creation. His uncommon love is here to take us where we wouldn't have gone, to do with us what we wouldn't have done, to help us discover the us we would've never met. We are His Problem Solvers!

Each of us here today is a product of God's Uncommon Love. Long before this planet was created God already had each of us in mind. We are not random beings left here to define ourselves. We are premeditated, predestined, preoradined beings created by God to function in His eternal purpose. Our lives really aren't our own. Each one of us is actually a solution to a need that God foresaw. We think we have problems but the only real problem we have is trying to live based on the lie that our lives belong to us. Uncommon Love is here to take us where we wouldn't have gone, to do with us what we wouldn't have done, to help us discover the us we would've never met. We are His Problem Solvers!

The Resurrection of Jesus is many life-changing messages in one. How couldn't it be? It's the most defining event in all of human history. We see the betrayal of close friends in Judas and Peter. The pride and cowardice of Herod and Pontious Pilate keeping them from intervening. We learn about the heart of man from two thieves and their final requests. Joseph of Arimethea and the women at Jesus' tomb show the first acts of faith after Jesus' death. But most of all we learn from Jesus and His response to them all. His cross and empty tomb demonstrate an uncommon love that changes the existence of every one of us and every person that has ever and will ever live under heaven's all-seeing eyes.

The Messiah and savior of the world had been with them for nearly 34 years. He had preached the gospel, performed miracles and fulfilled prophecies. But they hadn't really seen Him for who He was. Their eyes and hearts were too full of their own desires. They missed what He was saying and doing, too intent on seeing and hearing what they wanted. Entering Jerusalem on the very first Palm Sunday He was preparing to die. As they celebrated His arrival He knew it was really His exit. He'd soon be arrested. He would be on the cross by the end of the week. They were looking but they couldn't see the King!

The fear of the Lord produces a child of God with an unshakeable trust and confidence. No matter where they are or what they're facing the one who fears the Lord has a presence about them that comes from an unseen knowledge. Although they may experience hardships and face adversity like others those things don't shape the one who fears the Lord. Their reverence, awe, trust and ever deepening love for God is what's shaping them. They leave experiences that haunt others even more comforted by the wisdom, knowledge and uncommon love that they are receiving in the midst of it all. God can use the one who fears Him differently. Freed from the incessant need of constant reassurance they follow Him anywhere and into anything becoming carriers and dispensers of the love they have received and are receiving from Him.
