Also, some reflections and interpretations of the Unmanned Vehicle University Executive Certificate course, and we'll be speaking with uur guest Stephen Born about his article in Heli-Pilot magazine and the input from the FAA.

In this episode we discuss some of the other benefits offered to the membership with Chris Mailey, AUVSI's VP of Knowledge Resources. Gene and I will also talk about some of the roadwork we've been doing over the last couple of weeks including the UA Caucus in Washington D.C. 

  Gene and I get a update from Ted Wierzbanowski, Chairman of the ASTM F-38 committee. FAA tasked the ASTM (and other groups) to work on standards to supporting the sUAS ARC recommendations and the upcoming FAR. Mr. Wierzbanowski works for AeroViornment, was the co-chair of the sUAS ARC and has many years of experience working the Global Airspace Integration effort through the various standards groups.

Gene is headed to D.C. for the House UAS Caucus, and I'm going to Texas for the Southwest Economic Forum. A lot of things going on including a connversation with Jim Williams, head of the FAA UASIO.  

  Our guest will be Mr. Ken Defoor. Mr. Dafoor has a along and distinguished career in law enforcement that includes 27 years as a member of the Houston Police Department, as well as Chief of Police with the Dayton Texas Police Department. He will give us some perspective on UAS from the law enforcement application side of things.

  Gene and I discuss some ways companies can and are making money in this industry now, in the near-term, as well as in the future. We will also discuss possible strategies you can use to position your company to take advantage of the upcoming regulations.
