In this episode, Mr Lens starts by talking about wealth, economic growth and capitalism, and divides them into positives and negatives such as wealth and illth, benign and malignant economic growth, and virtue and gangster capitalism. The last phrase - gangster capitalism is reiterated by recordings of Terence McKenna and Neil Kramer using that phrase in Mr Lens's attempt to make it more in common use. This is followed by a chat with Jason (Aeolus Kephas) Horsley recorded in August 2010 in Hampstead, North London. The topics mostly revolve around SWEDA - an online group - based around, in a nutshell, going into one's deepest sub and unconscious to put right deeply ingrained and embedded habits, patterns of behaviour, and to make the subconscious conscious. In this episode, Mr Lens begins by reading an email from regular listener Byron, and then plays a recording of Graham Hancock talking at Breaking Convention in the University of Kent, which takes us to a realm of spirits, elves, aliens and other strange entities.One of the more profound statements during this talk is how limited Western man's understanding of prehistoric man is, because of the legal taboos concerning altering one's mind. In this first episode in five months, Mr Lens explains that his life has gone through somewhat of an upheaval, and it took some re-inspiration to get back into podcasting. To begin with, Mr Lens talks about his recent victory against the system, Wikileaks, the royal wedding and the Osama Obama facade before playing a controversial anti royal wedding song which can be found here. After that, Mr Lens plays a talk by Charlotte Walsh recorded on April 2 at the Breaking Convention conference in the University of Kent at Canterbury. Many topics are addressed, but the crux of the argument she puts across is freedom of religion, thought and cognitive liberty under Article 9 of the European Convention, and how it could be used to undermine the UK Misuse of Drugs act 1971, as well as other similar European legislation. This is followed by Mr Lens's closing rant in which he talks of other gems from Breaking convention to come on future podcasts, and ends by playing a very emotional 10 minute talk by Charlie Veitch broadcast in the immediate aftermath of being detained for 24 hours for 'conspiracy to cause a nuisance' at the royal wedding. In this episode, Mr Lens starts by reading a few comments off the podcast page, and then takes to the open heathland of Blackheath for a roamcast centred on the topic of 'anti DMT propaganda' that has been rife in the tabloid newspapers, and the overzealous nature of the authorities towards shops that sell ethnobotanicals with some rather amusing impressions of officials and authority figures! In this second part of Bruce Damer’s lecture, he starts this part of the talk about virtual worlds and Terence’s adventures in 1990’s style virtual reality in the weeks leading up to his first seizure. Bruce plays more recordings of McKenna and Tolle, focussing on a similar topics concerning how we could end all wars, famine, desease etc if it was not for the imbalance of the ego and the lack of intellectual vision, but described in the two radically different styles. Bruce concludes by mentioning that the modern technology is having a worrying collective brain reworking of people which is causing less empathy and more ADHD, and what the implications of an iPad is, as it is at the moment an unplanned experiment. In this episode, Mr Lens plays part 1 of the talk by Bruce Damer entitled “Egos, Elves and Avatars - Tools to Forge or Forego a New Earth” at the October Gallery in Holborn, London on July 13 2010. Here is an excerpt from the press release: On this the 10th anniversary of the passing of Terence McKenna, we can now look back at his Copernican explorations of the mind with some hindsight and ask many questions: what where his voyages into deeper conscious states all about? do the machine elves really exist? how do his warnings about the current state of Humanity play out today? But perhaps the most powerful insight gleaned from McKenna's many journeys might be related to the more recent work of Eckhart Tolle and others on the Ego.

McKenna and Tolle both describe mind states in which the Ego may be sensed briefly as a separate entity from oneself, providing momentary release and the sense of exquisite presence of the unencumbered self. For Tolle the recognition that the Ego is an inner actor with an agenda is the key to the transformation of the individual and of planetary civilization. McKenna clearly describes the Ego manifesting itself within elevated mental states, providing a possibly unique opportunity to understand and deal with it then and later in normal states of mind. If this is in fact a common experience, it could, in combination with regimens proposed by Tolle and others, give us a vital new tool to forge a New Earth.

Damer will bring into this mix the newly pressing issue of Humanity's increasingly intense exposure to technology, especially digital screens, and how that may be affecting a planetary change in mind state . Loading more of our selves into avatars, social networks, and endless update/interrupt streams may be dissolving or may be enhancing a species consciousness millions of years in the making. The future of us and our world is at stake in this giant unplanned experiment.

Bruce Damer is a visionary technologist and humanist who may be found farming with his partner Galen Brandt in the redwood forests in Northern California and occasionally trekking along back roads into adjacent Silicon Valley. His work for twenty five years has been in innovative human-computer interfaces: in the 1980s bringing graphical user interfaces to the PC platform, in the 90s pioneering work in virtual worlds inhabited by avatars, in the 2000s creating 3D mission visualizations and designs for NASA, and in the 2010s creating a simulation framework to study the origins of life on Earth. Bruce's 1999 project with Terence McKenna brought virtual worlds into Terence's reality and led to Bruce's interest in the inner virtual worlds and avatar-like inhabitants experienced by Terence himself:

In this episode, Mr Lens rants about recent overzealous treatment he received from the security staff at Gatwick Airport, and points out that even if one does not fully buy into the 911 truthers, it still doesn’t stop the official story being full of holes. Rather than go into the ‘911 was an inside job’ routine, Mr Lens then comes up with an idea of what the countercultural community could do in the name of gathering outside the officially sanctioned criteria every September 11, and how it could be used for benevolent sorcery on one hand because it could be a networking day for alternative people, but also could be used to ‘lure’ riot police as to demonstrate to straight people how 911 has been turned into a day of tyranny by the authorities rather than a day of remembrance. Aeolus Kephas joins the chat, talking about how his view of the world was particularly apocalyptic leading up to 911, and that 911 was a positive day because it was a ‘tear in consensus reality’, but in the long term, consensus reality became more restricted. Aeolus also theorises that 911 may have been a ripple back in time from a more apocalyptic event in the future. After the chat with Aeolus, Mr Lens goes into depth about how Cass Sunstein (one of Barack Obama’s ‘Czars’) wishes to make it illegal or taxable for people to harbour other opinions about such events as 911. Mr Lens points out that if there really is no conspiracy, then the apparent conspirators would not feel the need to stop people thinking there was, so are they confirming the conspiracy? Biblical history including Jesus castrated as a Nazareen, and his disciples as eunuchs, Adam and Eve, the Arthurian legend, ancient Egypt in depth relating to the primeval Adam as an androgynous character, the ages of Taurus, Aries and Pisces and the religious implications, the Aria as a the original Irish, a prophecy of a future ‘Diana’ goddess, etc. After the talk, Mr Lens reads an email by Byron, which focuses on Star Trek, and Gene Roddenberry’s , left field progressive ideas despite his military background. In this episode, Mr Lens starts by having a rant about the doomsayers in the truth movement, and the fact that there is a lot of stifling flakiness in the general alternative perception crowd. Could this be because we all have half of our brains missing?! This segways nicely into the guest on this show, Tony Wright, co author of the book ‘Left in the dark’. He has a theory that our brains have become neurodegenerative since we left the tropical rainforests approximately 200,000 years ago, and that we may be starved of certain foods - flavonoids, endocrine disrupters, MAO inhibitors, certain fruits and nuts etc - which may have been responsible for making our human brains grow to the size they are today. His argument is that as a result of us severing the connection with a set of plants we may have symbiotically co evolved with, our brains have failsafed into one side dominance causing right or left handedness, left brain dominance, delusion and dysfunction. He is currently promoting the controversial theory to academics, who assume the human brain is in perfect working order, that in fact the brain is not fully functional, and that everything which has happened in the age of civilisation has happened in an era of brain dysfunctionality.The second part of this interview continues in the next episode.
