What is it for in Paris, France? Learn French with Anne and this article. Histoire des Catacombes de Paris L'origine des Catacombes de Paris (qu'il vaudrait mieux appeler « Ossuaire municipal ») remonte à la fin du XVIIIe siècle. Le cimetière des Innocents (près de Saint-Eustache, dans le quartier des Halles) avait été en usage pendant près de dix siècles et était devenu un foyer d'infection pour tous les habitants du quartier. Après de multiples plaintes, le Conseil d'État, par arrêt du 9 novembre 1785, prononça la suppression et l'évacuation du cimetière des Innocents. Ce sont d'anciennes carrières qui furent choisies pour déposer les ossements ; la Ville de Paris venait en effet de se doter d'une inspection générale des Carrières dont le rôle était la consolidation des voies publiques minées par les carrières. Les carrières « de la Tombe-Issoire » furent l'objet de travaux comprenant une grande part de maçonnerie et de soutènement de galeries, complétés par le creusement d'un escalier flanqué d'un puits pour déverser les ossements. Le transfert des restes pu commencer après la bénédiction et la consécration du lieu le 7 avril 1786 et se continua jusqu'en 1788, toujours à la tombée de la nuit et selon un cérémonial constitué d'une procession de prêtres en surplis qui chantaient l'office des morts le long du trajet emprunté par les tombereaux chargés d'ossements et recouverts d'un voile noir. Par la suite, ce site allait, jusqu'en 1814, recueillir les ossements de tous les cimetières de Paris. Dès leur création, les Catacombes suscitèrent la curiosité. En 1787, le Comte d'Artois, futur Charles X, y descendit en compagnie de dames de la Cour. L'année suivante, on mentionne la visite de Madame de Polignac et Madame de Guiche. En 1814, François 1er, empereur d'Autriche, résidant en vainqueur à Paris les visita. En 1860, Napoléon III y descendit avec son fils. Elle est spécialiste de la question des déchets pour une association écologiste. Et voilà le résultat. --On a les frites, là-bas, restes de repas, des pâtes. Ça, c’est très habituel. On a du pain. Le pain, y en a beaucoup. Des restes de repas, du pain, des légumes flétris, cela n’a l’air de rien. Et pourtant… --C’est de l’ordre de 20 kg par habitant, et par an, qu’on jette ; dont 7 kg de produits .. "La rentrée littéraire est une extinction de la littérature" (dit Reger) Chaque automne, ce sont des centaines de nouveaux romans qui couvrent ici les tables des librairies, dit Reger. Chaque automne a lieu ici ce qu’on appelle la rentrée littéraire, c’est-à-dire la publication simultanée de centaines de titres nouveaux d’auteurs déjà connus ou inconnus.
