Measuring Maturity

We (the church) are family; we must mature. Spiritual babies have some identifying characteristics. Sometimes babies are "unnatural". We (the church) are a field; we should increase. Each worker in the field has an assigned task. God's different workers have the same purpose. Each worker will be rewarded according to his labor. As we do our work, God makes the church grow. We (the church) are a building; we should build with quality. Those who work can build on only one foundation - Jesus Christ. We can build using a spectrum of building materials. Each worker will be rewarded according to the materials he used. He who defiles God's temple will be defiled by God.

We are in a relationship where we have peace with God. Jesus made us right when we believed in Him. Draw close to your God. We are in a position of undeserved privilege where we receive blessings. Jesus gained us access to God and brought us to the place of grace. Pray with great boldness. We have been given a glorious future with God. Our present struggles lead us to our hope. rejoice when it's good and rejoice when it's bad.

The gospel is God's power. It's His power for salvation. It is God's power for salvation to everyone who believes. In it, the righteousness of God is revealed. Those who believe God declares righteous. It's revealed from faith to faith. Those who understand(?) are not ashamed of the gospel. It is God's saving message. Those who bring the message are His ambassadors. It can bring salvation to everyone.

The Power and Problem of Forgiveness

Athens, about 600 BCE. A plague. A prophet. A bunch of alters. An answer ... "You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart. I will be found by you." ..."for everyone who calls on the Name of the Lord will be saved." Samaria, about 30 AD- The Gospel of John. A well. A woman. A miracle. A revelation... God seeks worshippers! Athens, about 45-50 AD. The Book of Acts. An apostle An altar A revelation ... The God we worship. Who are you? What do you want me to do? What we are to do about Him. Back to Samaria and the Samaritans. A 'therefore'... The god of the Universe has sought us to worship Him! How we are to approach Him. God seeks me to worship! In all things praise Him that the glory may be God's through Jesus Christ.

Speak the Word. The Word is good seed. The Word will reveal the fertile soil. Expect the Lord to do something. The ride often starts "uphill". Whatever happens, He can keep us on track. We keep our heads up. We trust Him. In the midst of a wild ride, we pray/praise/sing to Him.
