The Chelsea In America Show

In the 2013-14 season finale of the Chelsea in America Show, we recap the season that was almost filled with silverware. Our boys almost won the Premier League where we finished third, and we almost got to play for the European Cup where we lost in the semi's. We'll discuss what we thought was the goal of the season, match of the season, as well as our best and worse moments of the year. We'll also talk about the U21 team that beat Manchester United earlier this week and we'll wish one of tonight's panel members a happy birthday. Sunday's home finale against Norwich was a dichotomy of the 2013-14 season in which we failed to break the wall of a lesser side that decided to park the bus against the Blues. We were shutout at home for the second time in 2014,and a win could have kept Chelsea in the league title race considering what happened to Liverpool at Crystal Palace on Monday. Now that we are out of the title race with Man City's win today we'll be looking ahead to end the season on a high note at already-regulated Cardiff City Sunday morning.

Recording the podcast 4 hours after the 3-1 loss at Stamford Bridge to Athletico Madrid in the Champions League semifinal, we will talk about the match. While we had many chances to score, we simply weren't the better team tonight. We'll also recap Sunday's beautiful win at Anfield to keep our small chance at winning the Premier League alive. We'll also look ahead to Sunday's league match against Norwich and how it won't be as easy as it looks.

The destiny we talk about having control of last week was short lived. Jose Mourinho suffered his first loss at Stamford Bridge Saturday with a controversial penalty in the final minutes against Sunderland. We'll also talk about yesterday's 0-0 draw at Athletico Madrid in the Champions League semifinal that saw Petr Cech suffer a season-ending shoulder injury and John Terry's ankle injury that could keep him out for the season. This week we preview the annual Anfield, a place where we haven't won since 5 May 2010. We'll also talk about our chances of advancing past Athletico Madrid at home next Wednesday.

Saturday the Blues kept their Premier League lead with a commanding 6-0 win over Arsenal. Arsene Wenger's club celebrated his 1,000th game in charge of the Gooners by getting blown out on the road for the third time this season. We'll discuss the Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain/Kieran Gibbs red card debacle, as well as Jose Mourniho's continued dominance over Arsene Wenger. We'll also talk about Liverpool and Manchester City winning midweek and next week's Champions League quarterfinal trip to Paris.

Yesterday was an emotional day at Stamford Bridge as Didier Drogba and Galatasaray came for the second league in the Champions League knockout stage. We discuss our 2-0 victory Tuesday night, as well as recap Saturday's league loss at Villa Park that led to Jose Mourinho getting an improper conduct charge by the FA. Our beloved football club celebrated their 109th birthday Monday. And we celebrated in style with a 4-0 win over the crap from North London. We now have a 7 point lead over the Scouse and Gooners and a 9 point lead over Man City. But they have games in hand so it's not over with. For the first time since 2011, we failed to advance to the sixth round in the FA Cup with Saturday's 2-0 loss at Manchester City. It was also their first win against us in three tries this season. Regardless we still hold a 1 point lead in the league heading into this weekend's home tilt vs Everton. We will also preview next week's visit to Didier Drogba and Galatasaray in the Champions League.

We took the league lead with Eden Hazard's hat trick against Newcastle, but we couldn't expand it when we failed to win at West Brom for the third straight year due to a late equalizer by the Baggies. The bright side is we won't be having a manager getting sacked this time around. We recap those matches and look ahead to the FA Cup tie vs Manchester City.

Monday night Chelsea did something that hadn't occurred in 61 previous games at the Etihad, keeping Manchester City scoreless. While we didn't clinch the league, the win kept us from making it difficult to win it all. Despite firing 9 shots on target, the Blues couldn't get anything past Adrian as they drew West Ham at home 0-0. A win would have placed us even with Arsenal in second and one point behind leaders Manchester City. We'll also preview Monday's showdown vs City, where a win could place us tied for first. Episode 223 - Not So Juanderful Window

Manchester United travel to London this Sunday. A so-so draw played out at Old Trafford earlier this season, but we've been on a tear recently, while they have been floundering. You never know what might happen. Nemanja Matic returns to the Bridge to shore up that midfield, and other transfer dealings could be on the horizon. We are ready for Sunday!
