Christian Meets World
Summary: Christian Meets World is a podcast that looks at how Christianity interfaces with the everyday. We all know about God, Jesus and the Bible, but how does that translate into action in the everyday? Is there a Christian approach to how to vote in elections? How does a Christian deal with questions like abortion and euthanasia? Is there a Christian postion on taxation or economic policy? How should Christians deal with aspects of secular culture? Jason Rennie sets out to explore all these sorts of questions in Christian Meets World, looking into areas of economics, ethics, philosophy, history, apologetics, and anything else that seems to fit.

Tonight I read a talk I wrote called "Porn, Probably a Bad Idea". I hope you like it and would welcome your feedback. References Good free accountability software that I have found is X3 Watch. It wont stop you using porn if you want, but it will tell on you to your accountability partner. I think this works better. Shelly Lubbens Pink Cross foundation is an excellent group that I would highly recommend giving money too. They provide an excellent outreach ministry. Shelly's storie is heart breaking but inspiring at the same time. Mark Gungor runs a ministry called Laugh Your Way to a Happy Marriage which is excellent and something I give now as a wedding present. I wish I had know about it before I got married. It could have saved a lot of pain. Mark Gungor also does a daily Radio Show that is very entertaining but not for the faint of heart. The Sovereignty of God and why it would be cool to have a time machine, they seemed like good topics for this evenings show. In fairness, what is cool about a time machine is a reflection on my 18 years as a christian and what 18 year old angry atheist Jason would make of 36 year old Christian Jason. Not much in the way of resources for tonights show as it is mostly my own reflections on the Sovereignty of God. I thought it would be interesting to talk about what makes something a God. I know I have encountered the challenge about an atheist believing in one less God than I do, but that doesn't seem to saying much as most of the "gods" in question aren't really gods at all. Resources The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy is an excellent resource for these sorts of topics, and anything philosophical in general. They have good articles on Omnipotence, Omniscience and Divine Simplicity as well as an excellent article on Monotheism They also have a general article on God and other Necessary Beings If you aren't familiar with Star Trek and Stargate then these are good sources And they have specific sources on Q and The Bajorian Prophets There is also good articles on The Ancients and the
