James Colah is from London, England and is an accomplished keyboards player, producer, arranger, composer, session man and International Songwriter Award winner with an impressive resumé in the music industry.  Talking Smooth Jazz welcomes James to talk about his last project, The James Colah Project.

I went on an amazing cruise sailing from Rome, Italy, porting in Mykonos, Greece, Messina, Italy and Athens, Greece.  Artists included Brian Culbertson, saxophonist Elan Trotman, Gerald & Selina Albright, trumpeter Gabriel Johnson, eukele player Jake Shimabukuro, and so many more. It was not my first cruise but it was my first Dave Koz cruise and my first time out of the U.S.  It was a wonderful experience!  

David “Pic” Conley, founding member of popular recording group Surface, was instrumental in the group’s #1 R&B hits “Shower Me With Your Love” and “Only You Can Make Me Happy.”  He is also known for his superlative flute solos, lusty vocals, and impeccable production masterpiece. His latest album is called Bird of Paradise.

  Steve Cole's new CD “Pulse” is a 10-song set mixing R&B, contemporary jazz, gospel, blues and pop that he produced with fellow saxman David Mann. The new collection surveying Cole’s musical passions showcases the artist’s affinity for infectious melodies, a wall of horns, and soulful grooves.

NiVO DEUX (pronounced nee-voh doo) is a French-American duo based in Los Angeles. The band's 80's New Wave and Electro-Pop influences are apparent, but the band also hints at the influence of the Smooth Jazz, Funk, Rock FM, Electropop, and Nu-Disco styles in their music. The group's core members comprise of Platinum French R&B/Pop Producer and Chart-Topping Guitarist U-Nam and up and coming Saxophonist and Vocalist Shannon Kennedy.

Talking Smooth Jazz welcomes fluteman Darryl Evan Jones to talk about his new project, “Relentless.”  Darryl’s instrument of choice is the flute; an elegant, versatile instrument that richly expresses his unique style described simply as “Instrumental Soul”.  What sets Darryl Evan Jones apart as a musician is that he doesn’t just play his instrument.  He “sings” with the flute, sharing a full range of emotions that fluidly connect with his audience.

SERENDIPITOUS, Lin Rountree's fourth project to date and debut album on CutMore Records is set to release September 3rd. Produced and co-written by Grammy Award winning producer Nate Harasim, this auspicious project establishes Mr. Rountree as a bona-fide leader in the new sound of Soul-Jazz.

Talking Smooth Jazz welcomes R&B singer Marc Staggers whose unique and soulful style is  reminiscent of Luther Vandross.  Marc’s first R&B album "Then and Now" represents a return to "Old School" and contemporary R&B that all music lovers of R&B will undoubtedly appreciate. His newest project “Back to Soul” features Marc and actor Tico Wells of the Five Heartbeats (choir boy), performing the classic R&B remake of the late Luther Vandross and Gregory Hines hit song, There's Nothing Better Than Love.
