Summary: Since 2008, we have interviewed some of the best contemporary jazz artists in the business. Al Jarreau, Joe Sample, Brian Culbertson, Stanley Clarke, Gerald Albright and Boney James to name a few. We’ve introduced you to up and coming artists like keyboardist/producer extraordinaire Nicholas Cole, saxophonists BK Jackson, Adrian Burse, Vincent Ingala, and Elizabeth Mis, guitarist Sheldon Ferguson, Sweden’s keyboardist Jonathan Fritzen and more. International artists, keyboardist Wayne Brown (UK), saxophonist Otoe (Japan), saxophonist Candy Dulfer (Amsterdam, the Netherlands), guitarist Fabio Mignola (Switzerland) and Helen Rogers (UK). With the release of his first solo CD, saxophonist & Brooklyn native, Curtis Haywood recalls, "My first encounter with music is a story my mom passed on to me. I was about 5-6 yrs of age and I had received my first instrument –a trumpet. When it was bedtime I absolutely refused to go to bed without it. Now being of West-Indian descent, my parents were obviously not trying to have any ‘back mout' from dis here little child! Finally, convinced that they had lost the battle they allowed me to sleep with my trumpet."  Curtis joins us to talk about his current, self-titled cd.

Aaron Bing's talent began to shine at an early age, and by the time he was fifteen, he was playing professionally, performing with a wide range of local bands and also writing his own songs.  Even though he never really studied jazz, he was soon garnering rave reviews for his soulful sound.  We'll talk to Aaron about his career and Rebirth cd.

At the tender age of 10, J.White’s destiny was shaped when his mother forced him to join the band.  They walked into the room full of instruments and his mother asked him which one he wanted to play.  The 10 year old nonchalantly replied “I guess that one…I like the way it’s shaped.”  Little did he know he would one day come to be known as jazz saxophonist, J.White.  We welcome JWhite to the show to talk about his cd, A New Jazz Swagger.

Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia's southside, Bee Boisseau is a man of music.  He expanded upon his gospel music upbringing and jazz influences while studying at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, VA.
