Summary: Since 2008, we have interviewed some of the best contemporary jazz artists in the business. Al Jarreau, Joe Sample, Brian Culbertson, Stanley Clarke, Gerald Albright and Boney James to name a few. We’ve introduced you to up and coming artists like keyboardist/producer extraordinaire Nicholas Cole, saxophonists BK Jackson, Adrian Burse, Vincent Ingala, and Elizabeth Mis, guitarist Sheldon Ferguson, Sweden’s keyboardist Jonathan Fritzen and more. International artists, keyboardist Wayne Brown (UK), saxophonist Otoe (Japan), saxophonist Candy Dulfer (Amsterdam, the Netherlands), guitarist Fabio Mignola (Switzerland) and Helen Rogers (UK). Trumpeter Edmund Sobczak is known as EDolutionary (stage name) which is a mixture of his name and the evolutionary style of music he creates.  Edmund’s musical taste is influenced by artists like Michele Camilo, Arturo Sandoval, Miles Davis, Winton Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Dave Koz and many, many others from all kinds of genres, including classical and pop but his number one inspiration for the modern style and tone was Chris Botti.

He began recording and producing in 2002 after being laid off from his job as a civil engineer. Since then he has played behind and worked with artists such as Marvin Sapp, John P. Kee, Byron Cage, Jonathan Butler, Dorinda Clark-Cole, William Becton, Kenny Curry & Nu Spirit, and Dennis Reed & GAP to name a few. Paul’s current project, "Versatility" is a collection of 15 original songs. The CD builds on a broad stylistic range musically, from the highly charged, gospel – influenced, jazz and soul with accompanying vocals.

Hiroshima is an American jazz fusion/smooth jazz band formed in 1974 by Dan Kuramoto (wind instruments and band leader), Peter Hata (guitar), June Kuramoto (koto), Johnny Mori (percussion and taiko), Dave Iwataki (keyboards) and Danny Yamamoto (drums).  Named for the Japanese city of Hiroshima, the band is best-known for the fusing of Japanese music and other forms of world music into its playing.  We welcome Dan Kuramoto to talk about their newest project, Departure, out in January.
