Trumpeter Edmund Sobczak is known as EDolutionary (stage name) which is a mixture of his name and the evolutionary style of music he creates.  Edmund’s musical taste is influenced by artists like Michele Camilo, Arturo Sandoval, Miles Davis, Winton Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Dave Koz and many, many others from all kinds of genres, including classical and pop but his number one inspiration for the modern style and tone was Chris Botti.    

Najee returns to Talking Smooth Jazz with The Smooth Side of Soul.

He began recording and producing in 2002 after being laid off from his job as a civil engineer. Since then he has played behind and worked with artists such as Marvin Sapp, John P. Kee, Byron Cage, Jonathan Butler, Dorinda Clark-Cole, William Becton, Kenny Curry & Nu Spirit, and Dennis Reed & GAP to name a few. Paul’s current project, "Versatility" is a collection of 15 original songs. The CD builds on a broad stylistic range musically, from the highly charged, gospel – influenced, jazz and soul with accompanying vocals.

Jere B is a Composer/Producer & Musician.  His award winning band, SounDoctrine has released four critically acclaimed CDs and a DVD and has received notable honors from Soul Patrol, The Hollywood Black Film Festival, Campus Crusade for Christ, New Artist Radio, The Capital Jazz Fest Challenge, WSV and the American Gospel Music Awards among others.   

Guitarist Jazzy Frank joins us from Thailand, Bangkok to talk about his music and career.

Talking Smooth Jazz welcomes Ervin Pope to talk about his new cd "With These Hands."  This project is one that fuses soulful easy listening instrumentals with contemporary ballads. Composed by one of the best Hip Hop and R&B producers in the game today. EP has produced and played keys for many top artist. Including Kanye West and Ne-Yo.

James Andrews, trumpeter, vocalist, aka "12", aka "Satchmo of the Ghetto", is grandson of the late Jessie "Ooh-Poo-Pah-Doo" Hill; is older brother to Troy Andrews (aka "Trombone Shorty") and is determine to keep the flame of New Orleans Soul and R&B alive and burning in the hearts of many. In Andrews new album…The Big Time Stuff!!!...You can hear, feel, smell, and taste New Orleans throughout this recording.

Jorel returns to Talking Smooth Jazz with a new cd called "Hypnotic." 

Paris is the son of Thomas "Coke" Escovedo an original member of Santana.  Paris’ uncle is Pete Escovedo, (Santana) and is cousin to Sheila E. (Santana, Prince).  He has performed, toured and recorded with Arrested Development, Angie Stone, Pink, Collective Soul, and Malo.  The highly anticipated debut album from the next generation of Latin Jazz, The Paris Escovedo Project, is a trend setting global blend of Latin, Jazz, R & B, and Old School. 

Born in Buffalo NY, Will Holton has been playing the sax for over 10 years and "Wowing" the public professionally for the past 2 years. We will talk to Will about his new project, Love Stories Untold, Vol. 1.

Hiroshima is an American jazz fusion/smooth jazz band formed in 1974 by Dan Kuramoto (wind instruments and band leader), Peter Hata (guitar), June Kuramoto (koto), Johnny Mori (percussion and taiko), Dave Iwataki (keyboards) and Danny Yamamoto (drums).  Named for the Japanese city of Hiroshima, the band is best-known for the fusing of Japanese music and other forms of world music into its playing.  We welcome Dan Kuramoto to talk about their newest project, Departure, out in January.
