Welcome to another exciting edition of Radio Cuju. This week Ginge and Alicia cover some somber headlines before laughing at people brawling at Disney World. We explain just how much the Champions League is worth to teams involved and get Alicia and listener reaction to our interview last week with Ted Westervelt. We're also joined by Juan Arango to learn about new Barcelona head coach Gerardo Martino.

A truncated edition of Turkish Football Weekly is on tap. This week, Trabzonspor's match with Derry City in the 2nd qualifying round of the Europa League is discussed, as well as who Turkish clubs will be facing in the next round of European competition. The main news discussed concerns Tolga Zengin's transfer to Besiktas. Finally, there is a brief discussion of Konak Belediyesi and who they will play in the UEFA Women's Champions League.

First Division Mexican football returned with 19 goals in seven games. Darío Benedetto debuted in Liga Bancomer MX with a hat-trick, Kikin Fonseca got ejected for fouling Rafa Márquez on two occasions (he says Rafa flopped), Reyna scored a goal in the dying minutes of the match against Chiapas FC to give Tiburones Rojos an important 2-2 tie, and Pachuca got three important points at Nemesio Díez. Tom, Jonny, and Nayib review all of Liga Bancomer MX's first week, and they give their predictions for the upcoming El Tri Gold Cup semifinal against Panamá.

On this edition of the Mad About Futbol Show, the guys were joined by Uncle Ed of the Miami Ultras as well as from the Miami Chapter of the American Outlaws to talk about the prospect of Miami in MLS. We also scheduled Joseph Goodman of the Miami Herald but he refused to come on the show to talk about his article on South Beach and David Beckham. Ed spoke about the latest goings on in this never-ending saga to bring an MLS team back to South Florida as well as a chance to help convince Juan and George about the prospects a little more. We were also joined by SB Nation columnist Xoel Cárdenas to talk about the biggest news of the day- the hiring of Gerardo Martino as coach of FC Barcelona. Xoel expressed his initial skepticism about the hiring of the former Paraguayan national team and Newell's Old Boys coach as well as what "Tata" will offer his new team. Xoel also points out that this squad will have some major issues to deal with, especially on defense this coming season. Surely lots of interesting topics that are dealt with by Xoel in this episode. This week's show continues to look at the game of futbol (or soccer) in the United States. The docket is loaded, and Earl and Robert start with the Men's National Team who are traipsing around the country hoping to hoist the Gold Cup at Chicago's famous Soldier Field. Our second show of the week features Ginge talking with Ted Westervelt, aka @soccerreform, easily one of the most infamous and notorious members of the American soccer social media community. We discuss why Ted began his crusade against the single-entity system utilized by MLS and why he feels promotion and relegation are a necessary edition to American club soccer. We also talk about his public perception and what his ultimate goals are for his efforts. Some may not approve of giving Ted a platform but everyone deserves a chance to make their case and either Ted will be able to convince you he's on to something or he won't.

This week on Turkish Football Weekly, there's on field action, and court dates to be discussed. The first leg of Trabzonspor's Europa League 2nd qualifying round tie with Irish outfit Derry City is reviewed. News discussed this week includes Besiktas finding a temporary home while Inonu stadium gets rebuilt, Florent Malouda being signed by Trabzonspor, and Orhan Sam's status with Kasimpasa. The main topic of discussion this week centers on the decisions of the UEFA appeals body regarding the bans placed on Fenerbahce and Besiktas, and the Court of Arbitration for Sport enforcing a stay of execution on those bans until the cases are heard at CAS. The podcast concludes with a brief overview of the attendance of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey.

This episode was one where the guys talked about several topics. They guys talked about the Copa Lib final as well as the rumor about MLS in Miami involving Boca Juniors. They were also joined by Jony Rico and Tom Marshall of sister cast Mexican Soccer Show. There they had an extensive preview and were trying to solve the riddle that is Mexican football after all the moving and selling around the Liga Bancomer MX. Who has a chance to win? Radio Cuju is back as Ginge and Alicia are joined by Richard Farley to discuss Edinson Cavani's absurd transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, angry Wayne Rooney and whether or not Clint Dempsey should leave Spurs. There's also headlines that include Michael Jackson, Qatar buying tanks and howitzers and un-clever construction sabotage. We also have This Week in Football History and answer a bunch of listener questions.

Mexico's Primera Division begins this Friday July 19, 2013. The league is no longer called Liga MX, but Liga Bancomer MX. Tom, Jonny, and Nayib preview the 18 Mexican clubs and give their Liguilla picks. At the end of the show they predict who they have winning the title.

In this episode of the US Of Futbol Show, Earl and Robert start out examining "retention funds," or MLS's way of helping franchises keep players for the future. They also spend some time recapping the Gold Cup thus far, go over MLS scores from the weekend's action, and finish up talking about refereeing and the difficulties of spelling. This week on Kicking it with Raphael, I welcomed on ESPN's football writer Christopher Atkins. We discussed the latest transfer news, who will the big clubs try and sign and who will the big clubs let walk? We looked at the U20 World Cup and discussed the success of the Iraqi football team and analyzed Ghana's history in the tournament. I put Christopher on the spot and made him make some predictions. Ginge got to thinking -- a dangerous thing we know -- about the state of soccer podcasting and decided to offer up some thoughts. What started as a short segment for this week's regular edition of the show became it's own special edition as Ginge discusses the need for creative content and the importance of listeners pushing creators to be something better than the generic normal sports talk-esque content that we hear. Call it a manifesto about what Radio Cuju is striving to be and what we should all expect from the shows we listen to on a regular basis.
