 #47 - Comic Reviews for 2/13/13 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 34:45

Welcome to Positively Nerdy!  A great stack of comics await in an all-new comic review episode!  We've got Batman, Star Wars and some twisted tales from Image Comics!  Will one of these powerhouses claim this week's Top of the Stack or will Todd  pull of the upset yet again?  The epic 'Death of the Family' event comes to it's conclusion in Batman #17 with an unofficial epilogue in Batman and Robin #17.  The lone representative from Marvel this week is Scarlet Spider #14, bringing back a better-off-forgotten event from Spider-Man's past (and no, I don't mean the Clone Saga).  Image Comics continues to bring bold and exciting comics, this week in the form of The Manhattan Project #9 and Todd: The Ugliest Kid on Earth #2.  And finally this week we're once again taken to our favorite far, far away galaxy with Star Wars #2

 #46 - Comic Reviews for 2/6/13 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 31:21

Welcome to Positively Nerdy!  Back again with an all-new batch of comics to review.  It would take a writer like Jeff Lemire to get me to read a Green Arrow comic and that's exactly what happens with Green Arrow #17!  Also from DC this week, two of my current favorites, World's Finest #9 and Earth2 #9!  Star Trek: Into Darkness is getting closer and closer, helping to hold us over is a Dr. McCoy one-and-done in Star Trek #17.  A pair of terrific all-ages comics came out this week - Super Dinosaur #17 and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic #3!  And finally, from the House of Ideas, Venom returns in Ultimate Comics All-New Spider-Man #20 before the MarvelNOW! onslaught with Avengers #5, All-New X-Men #7 and Superior Spider-Man #3

Welcome to Positively Nerdy!  This week we're going under the sea with Aquaman and Star Wars, swinging through New York City with a superior Spider-Man and we head to Eternia not once, but twice!  The 'Throne of Atlantis' event continues in Aquaman #16 while Gorilla Grodd continues the battle in The Flash #16.  Swinging in from Marvel it's Superior Spider-Man #2 and Avengers #4.  Our blue milk gets shaken, not stirred, in Star Wars: Agent of the Empire - Hard Targets #4 before heading to Eternia for a He-Man double-shot with He-Man and the Masters of the Universe #6 and Masters of the Universe: Origin of He-Man #1

 #42 - Superhuman Super Bowl | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 26:33

Welcome to Positively Nerdy!  It's Super Bowl week so for this very special episode we're trying to make the Super Bowl a little more interesting - by adding a whole bunch of superheroes!  I am joined once again by Mike Lacey to draft our own super hero teams and give Fantasy Football a whole new meaning!  Mike's team is made up from the characters from Marvel while my team employs the characters of DC!  It's a cross-company showdown that would put the big game to shame!  So join Mike and I for our exciting picks and plenty of off-the-cuff conversation and even some actual Super Bowl talk.  (Not much, I promise!

 #41 - Comic Reviews for 1/23/13 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:35:26

Welcome to Positively Nerdy!  Another week brings with it another batch of comic reviews!  We're treated to a double-shot of Avengers this week with Uncanny Avengers #3 as well as Avengers #3.  Also from Marvel, FF #3 keeps surpassing my expectations and throws in more than a few surprises.  The Countdown to the new Star Trek movie has begun with the release of Star Trek: Countdown to Darkness #1, the official prequel to the upcoming, Star Trek Into Darkness feature film.  Chew #31 begins the the second half of the series with the fall-out of Toni's death and resets the status quo.  The Amazon Princess continues to battle gods, old and new, in Wonder Woman #16 and the thoroughly entertaining 'Throne of Atlantis' crossover continues in Justice League #16.  Lots of great comics reading and discussion await, plus the secret of the Top of the Stack will be revealed and I briefly address the JJ Abrams/Episode 7 news.  Enjoy

 #40 - The Movies of 2012 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 59:18

Welcome to Positively Nerdy!  This episode is all about movies, specifically the movies released in the year 2012!  I am joined by podcaster-extrodinare Mike Lacey to go through the entire list of major theatrical movies released last year.  Well, except for the movies we forgot or those released late in the year in Limited Engagements just to be in Award contention.  But other than that, we cover them all.  And by cover them all,  I mean we say 'I didn't see that one' a lot.  Probably too much.  But there were plenty that we did see and there's some great discussion along the way.  At the end of the episode Mike and I share our picks for Best and Favorite movies of 2012 and what we're looking forward to in 2013

 #39 - Comic Reviews for 1/16/13 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 42:49

Welcome to Positively Nerdy! The comic industry’s heavy-hitters are all here! Batman! All-New X-Men! Saga! But they’re all about to taken down by a little boy with a paper bag on his head. This week’s reviews feature the continuation of the ‘Death of the Family’ Batman crossover event with Batman #16 and Batman and Robin #16. Marvel NOW! keeps plugging right along with the surprising Indestructible Hulk #3 and the still-impressive All-New X-Men #6. Image Comics joins in the fun as well with the impressive Saga #9 and unexpected delight otherwise known as Todd: The Ugliest Kid on Earth #1

 #38 - Saying Goodbye to Sweet Tooth | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 19:09

Welcome to Positively Nerdy.  This past week, Jeff Lemire's Sweet Tooth came to an end in the emotional, yet ultimately satisfying, double-sized 40th issue.  Since I've been reviewing comics Sweet Tooth has been there reminding me that good things happen when you step out from your comfort zone and explore new ideas.  Sweet Tooth was filled with an array of unique characters looking for survival and answers in an barren post-apocalyptic landscape.  I quickly lost track of how many times this series brought me to tears, most recently in its finale.  In this episode I recap the series, my excitement to try something new when the series began and what this series means to me as a comic book reader.  In short, this is my thank you to creator Jeff Lemire

 #37 - Comic Reviews for 1/9/12 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 35:22

Welcome to Positively Nerdy! It’s a short list of comics this time around but there’s still plenty to talk about including, finally, my thoughts on Amazing Spider-Man #700 from a few weeks ago. And the spider-titles don’t stop there because this week not only do we get Scarlet Spider #13 but also the debut of highly anticipated The Superior Spider-Man #1! Also from Marvel this week, Fantastic Four #3 starts laying some unfavorable groundwork and is already playing second fiddle to its sister-series FF. Over at DC Comics it’s once again time to double-dip with the alternate reality duo of World’s Finest #8 and Earth 2 #8. And last but far from least is the newest Star Wars comic from Dark Horse, Star Wars #1! Luke, Leia, Han and all your favorites are back in this brand new series set in the aftermath of Episode IV: A New Hope. And just between you and me, it’s rather spectacular! And the only way to discover this week’s choice for the Top of the Stack is to listen now

 #36 - Comic Reviews for 1/2/13 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 23:31

Welcome to Positively Nerdy’s first podcast of 2013! It’s time to get back into the swing of things with an all-new batch of comic reviews. Yes, we’ve got My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic #2, but believe it or not, some other comics came out this week as well! From Marvel there’s Ultimate Spider-Man #19 and a pair of Marvel NOW! stories including New Avengers #1 and the increasingly spectacular All-New X-Men #5. Sometimes even two issues is too many, as proven by Star Wars: Purge: The Tyrant’s Fist #2 but it’s nothing a trip to the Mirror Universe can’t fix in Star Trek #16. And finally the first batch of comics for 2013 wraps up with The Manhattan Projects #8 and its explosion of the bizarre and fascinating storytelling, artwork and historical perspective.  #33 - Comic Reviews for 12/12/12 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 34:52

Welcome to Positively Nerdy!  In this, perhaps the last comic review episode of the year, there's plenty to talk about.  For you last-minute shoppers I run down all of the week's big trade paperback and hard cover collections released this week to help inspire some last minute gift ideas, or just for yourselves, because a lot of quality collections were released this week.  Over on the comic side of things, the hotly anticipated 'Death of the Family' event continues in Batman #15 and Batman and Robin #15.  Marvel NOW! unleashes Cable and X-Force #1 and continues the new adventures of Marvel's first family in Fantastic Four #2.  The ".1" concept goes from bad to worse in Amazing Spider-Man #699.1 and the surprise hit of the week belongs to Scarlet Spider #12.  And far away from the superhero genre, it's Saucer Country #10 and The Crow: Skinning the Wolves #1
