Practical NLP 10: Presuppositions about Communication | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 17:21

This week's episode of the UK's most listened to NLP podcast introduces three NLP 'presuppositions' or principles about successful communication (yes, I know it says 'six presuppositions' at the start of the podcast but we'll cover the other 3 next week): Respect for the other person's 'map of the world' The 'meaning' of communication is the response you get You cannot not communicate As usual, we cover a lot of ground - so this week's episode features how not to motivate your employees, Gerald Ratner's fall from grace, my 'tabloid press' voice, and the facts behind the widely-quoted myth that 93% of communication is non-verbal.  Practical NLP podcast 9: Mind and Body are one system | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 6:20

A short and sweet episode of the UK's most listened to NLP podcast this week, all about the NLP presupposition that 'Mind and Body are One System'. Featuring the 'mind-body problem', neuropeptides, a quick exercise to experience the mind-body link, and the most important thing that you need to know about motivation! Now, I've read that most podcast listeners don't know about the benefits of subscribing to a cast as opposed to streaming it or downloading it. When you subscribe to this podcast, new episodes show up in your iTunes or your podcast app automatically, without you having to go looking for them - much easier! So do yourself a favour and subscribe. Subscribe via iTunes here. If you prefer to subscribe using something other than iTunes, the feed is http://coachingleaders.co.uk/feed/podcast/ By the way, if you have an Android phone (or tablet), I recommend the BeyondPod app. It works for video as well as audio, and it's also an RSS feed reader. Best of all, the free 'Lite' version will be fine for most needs! And there are plenty of other apps available. If you like the podcast, please leave a comment on iTunes. If you want to get deeply into how being embodied shapes our language and thought, I recommend Philosophy in the Flesh: The Embodied Mind and Its Challenge to Western Thought by Lakoff and Johnson. It's an easier read than the title suggests - I couldn't get my head round the chapter about Wittgenstein, but that's just me and Wittgenstein.

Practical NLP podcast 6: Keys to an Achievable Outcome | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 14:33

Today the Practical NLP podcast shot through the 10,000 unique downloads barrier! I'm not 100% sure whether this means 10,000 episodes have been listened to, or 10,000 different people have downloaded at least one episode, but I'm knocked out with it either way. This week's podcast is about goal-setting 101 and features, among other things, why "I want to be happy" is not a goal, why your unconscious mind is like a ship (and how to stop the crew from mutinying), and the meaning of life! As we're talking about goal-setting, I thought I'd include a picture and link to my book Achieve Your Goals. Subscribe via iTunes here (NB the episode usually arrives on iTunes about a day after I post it here).
