Matt discusses Jesus' next appearance to His disciples along with the importance of His bodily resurrection as proof the power of sin has been broken as well as the necessity of repentance that leads to forgiveness.
Jim Taylor teaches on Luke 24:13-34 as Jesus has risen from the dead and appears to some of his disciples on the road to Emmaus. Through this story, Jim shows that Jesus is the fulfillment of our best hopes, but not necessarily our misplaced ones.
Matt continues teaching on the death of Jesus and how his sacrifice allows us to enter into rest.
Matt discusses the key people Luke mentions at the trial and crucifixion and contrasts what they said and did to an innocent Jesus with His response and exchange for them.
Even in the working of evil, God's plans are sovereign.
Matt teaches from Luke 19 as Jesus enters Jerusalem in preparation for his death. Jesus goes into the temple, exposes the corruption, and begins to teach, taking ownership as King and Messiah. Are we willing to let Jesus come in, expose our sin, and take ownership of our lives?
Matt discusses Peter's denial during Jesus' trial, his restoration after the resurrection and the dramatic change brought about by the indwelling Spirit after pentecost.
Matt Williams teaches from Luke 18:9-14 emphasizing Jesus' message that good people cannot go to heaven. Once again it is those who recognize their sin and need for Jesus who will be exalted, and those who have confidence in their own righteousness will be humbled.
Bill White teaches from Luke 16:19-31 on the parable of the rich man and Lazarus. Through Jesus' words, Bill reiterates the rise and fall theme, explaining that suffering on this earth does not mean God is not with us, and that our decisions here on earth echo into eternity.
Matt challenges us with Jesus' story on the great feast. Some of us may think we are invited, only to discover we are not because we have rejected Jesus to be filled with lesser things.
Bill White teaches from Luke 13:31-35 on the severity and mercy of Jesus. Through the text, Bill shows that Jesus is determined to fulfill his Father's mission through his sacrifice in Jerusalem. He longs for us to be in relationship with him, but the question lies in our willingness to come on his terms.
Mike Chibbaro teaches through Luke 13:22-30 as Jesus continues to urge those listening that salvation is found only through faith in him. Many who think they are saved will not be let into the kingdom because of their rejection of Jesus as savior.
Does our hearing truth result in hardness of heart or a response of repentance? Matt explores this idea with Jesus' teaching from Luke 11 on Jonah, Sheba and Solomon and the parable of the lamp stands.
Teaching through Luke 11, Scott Mozingo reminds us how necessary and important prayer is in growing our relationship with God. Scott encourages us to pray boldly and persistently, recognizing that we are on mission with a Father who gives willingly.
