At Beer America TV, we're fortunate to have friends in the brewing community that send us beers, this week is the first of several sent by Mothers Brewing Company! Towhead is an easy drinking American Blonde (tow head...get it?) with a very sessionable 5.2% ABV. This beer is great for the veteran American craft beer drinker, or an excellent introduction into the movement, either way you can't lose with this one!

This week on Beer America TV we tackle a tall boy in a can...a big mean 16oz can! Deviant Dales from Oskar Blues is an outstanding IPA with big flavor and a big attitude to boot. You won't believe the story behind this beer and you'll hear it right from the Head Brewer himself, Dave Chichura - Fu-CAN-Eh!

We at Beer America TV have been talking about it on and off for the past couple of years on our blogs, but it was time to put it to the test. The question, does beer taste better in a bottle or a can? We take two beers, Ranger IPA from New Belgium, and Torpedo Extra IPA from Sierra Nevada, who both bottle and can the same beer, and do a simple blind taste test. One of us got both right, can you guess who?

We started our little vlog back in 2008, and you'd be hard pressed to find more then a handful on the entire internet back then. Today, there are all types and number in the hundreds. They range from homebrew experts, to the everyday Joe with a webcam and a bottle of beer. We love our fans at Beer America TV, and this week we were sent a beer by Woody Durnell who lives in Central NY. We're familiar with Southern Tier Brewing Company having reviewed their Creme Brulee, so we were just as excited to try out the Imperial Red! Big and malty with excellent use of Hallertau hops makes this beer an excellent Red!! It's hard to find, so if you can't find this one, explore the many others they brew!!

I know we've been slow to roll out blogs here at Beer America TV, but this one is worth the wait as we tackle one of our favorite American Craft breweries - Terrapin Beer Company out of Athens Georgia. As Terrapin puts it - "Indiana Krunkles" Wheat I.P.A. boasts all the hop adventure of an American I.P.A. while leading you on a quest for the malt and yeast found in a traditional German Hefeweizen. It's Side Project 15 and counting, so give it a try if you can find it!

This week on Beer America TV we tackle the rise of Rye! It seems we are seeing more and more beers using this ingredient that doesn't actually taste like you think it would when you think of Rye. A great example of that is Real Ale's Full Moon Rye Pale Ale, a wonderful beer that is well balanced and very tasty. In this episode John will also discuss what rye actually does in the brewing process!

This week on Beer America, we were invited to Beer for Breakfast on Dallas/Fort Worth radio KDGE 102.1 The Edge. Morning show host Vydra tries a new beer each week at 8:10am, but there was one beer no one could get her in the state of Texas, except us of course! They rank beers, many of them low in shows past, so be sure to watch and see what they give this one.

In each hour-long episode of Beer America we'll introduce one of the craft breweries that will be competing at the Great American Beer Festival in September 2012. These breweries will come in all shapes and sizes and from different regions across the United States. We'll explore the history behind each brewery and introduce the unique and outrageous characters that make up their brew crew. Each region of the country is unique, and because of that, their stories and the beer styles they create are vastly different. We'll see how these breweries got started, hear about their one of a kind specialty beers and highlight the cool ways they contributing to the growth of the communities they live in. We'll also witness each brewery creating the beer that just might be the next medal winner at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver this fall.

This week Beer America TV tackles yet one more beer from Dogfish Head. Squall IPA is basically a 100% bottle conditioned version of their 90 Minute IPA thats dry hopped. Another excellent IPA which is by no means a surprise coming from Dogfish! The good news is, this beer should cellar well, the bad news is, they are no longer making it, so if you find it - keep it for a while.
