UPDATE: /Film just announced a new “Family friendly” version is in the works! The Fantastic 4 (1994) was hidden. Listen to the inside scoop on the infamous Roger Corman “Fantastic 4.” It was a movie no one was supposed to see. The prints were burned. Who leaked it? Why would a company want to make a movie just to shelve it? Chris Gore was the editor of “Film Threat” magazine. He did a cover story about the production – not knowing the film was doomed. DOOMED! Chris give his insight on this blockbuster bootleg. Everything you ever wanted (or not wanted) to know about the early ’90s feature film. Gore is a movie/comic book nut. So he goes off on fun tangents about all things nerdy. Luckily for us, being nerdy is in now. I know Chris Gore was on before talking about The Fantastic 4 movie, but I wanted him to get into more details. So to my brother who called me out on having Chris Gore talk about the movie twice, lean back and learn more. Here’s some background onThe Fantastic 4 from Wikipedia: n 1983, German producer Bernd Eichinger met with Marvel Comics‘ Stan Lee at Lee’s Los Angeles home to explore obtaining an option for a movie based on theFantastic Four.  The option was not available until three years later, when Eichinger’s Neue Constantin film company obtained it for a price the producer called “not enormous” and which has been estimated to be $250,000.  Despite some interest from Warner Bros. and Columbia Pictures, budget concerns precluded any production, and with the option scheduled to expire on December 31, 1992, Neue Constantin asked Marvel for an extension. With none forthcoming, Eichinger planned to retain his option by producing a low-budget Fantastic Four film, reasoning, he said in 2005, “They didn’t say I had to make a big movie.”  In September 1992, he teamed with B-movie specialist Roger Corman, who agreed to produce the film on a $1 million budget. The “Groundlings” lead Jim Wise to a part in “Showgirls” witnessing  director Paul Verhoeven and Elizabeth Berkley on set romance, a private Hollywood “Showgirls” screening with Kyle MacLachlan and a command performance for the OJ Simpson jury with  Will Ferrell.    Jim Wise is a singer, actor and a writer known for his role as Coach Tugnut in Even Stevens (2000), Kenny the Psychopath in Just Shoot Me (1998), Saturday Night Live (1975), MADtv (1995) and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (1992) and I met him working at Arsenio Hall (2014). He’s the  voice of the Goofy Goober Rock Singer featured in the SpongeBob Squarepants Movie (2004). And, he is perhaps best known for being in scenes deleted from Will Ferrell movies.    

Sean Conroy (“The Long Shot Podcast,” writer “Mr. Pickles”) and I talk about the #1 movie of the weekend, “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.” It’s filled with spoilers and mispronunciation. Bad Film Club’s Nicko joins me in reviewing “Batman & Robin.” It’s another #Podcrawl and this time we get stuck with the worst of the worst. This film is the fourth in the line of Batman movies that fans went to because they thought they had no choice. It’s out of hand. All I know is that I couldn’t stop playing with my cats. Ok, technically “Blood Lake: Attack of the Killer Lampreys”  is not a shark movie…But it’s made by the Sharknado people. And it’s a cool interview with Fred Stoller – You know this guy from the show… he’s that guy. Fred Stoller has been cast as the comic relief on sitcoms and movies for over 20 years. I was lucky enough to interview Fred at his home about his interesting career. Fred discusses writing on “Seinfeld,” why Kathy Griffin wanted to punch after sex, returning to stand up after 17 years and guest starring in tons of TV shows and movies. Fred has played “Fred” on shows from “Everybody Loves Raymond” to “Wings.” We also talk about the film he wrote and stars in, Fred & Vinnie.” It started as a real tragic event, became a short story and now a full length movie. Fred also stars in “Blood Lake: Attack of the Killer Lampreys” – the new movie from the “Sharknado” people made for Animal Planet.
