Mickey Huff and Peter Phillips review the new DVD release of the Oliver Stone' and Peter Kiznick's The Untold History of the United States. Deeply researched by an American University team of historians, the ten hour Showtime documentary seriesis a provocative challenge to the status quo of American history in the tradition of Howard Zinn’s People’s History of the United State. The film series covers the rise of the American Empire and national security state from the late nineteenth century through the Obama administration.

On the February 7th for the Project Censored Show on Pacifica Radio, Mickey Huff with Peter Phillips review the issues around two important State Crimes Against Democracy the JFK Assassination and 9/11. Both have serious factual errors in the US government’s official explanation for what happened. Research on both has been under-minded by negative labeling these State Crimes as conspiracy theory.

In the Project Censored show this week Mickey Huff and Peter Phillips focus on nonviolent resistance to US imperial policies around the world. On the Project Censored Show on Pacifica Radio, Mickey Huff speaks with Shahid Buttar, executive director of the Bill of Rights Defense Committee about NSA surveillance and the growing resistance to such programs, he also talks about Guantanamo 12 years on, and other civil liberties issues. In the second half of the show Sarah van Gelder, co-founder of YES! Magazine returns to the program to discuss “Ten Hopeful Things That Happened in 2013 to Get You Inspired for What’s to Come.”

The Project Censored Show, Pacifica Radio Friday, January 3, 2014, 8 A.M. looks at sixty-year history of China from the Great Leap Forward, through the Cultural Revolution andthe Communist Party today. In studio with Peter Phillips for the hour is Professor Dongping Han author of “The Unknown Cultural Revolution: Life and Change in a Chinese Village. Joining him also is Ann Tompkins educator/activist who worked and studied in China for five years during the height of China’s Cultural Revolution. 

On the December 27 Project Censored Show on Pacifica Radio is entitled Nelson Mandela and the Legacy of Apartheid.
