This week we go one-on-one with the Founder and CEO of Orange Mud, Josh Sprague.  The company’s motto is “Innovation from frustration.” Their first product was the HydraQuiver which mounts high on your back, doesn’t bounce, has great storage, is very breathable and only uses a water bottle. Their second product launched is called the Transition & Seat Wrap. It’s a multi-function towel with a built in clip to prevent your towel from falling off when changing into workout gear.  Secondly thanks to a built in zipper it turns into a hoodie that protects your car seat from sweat and grime after a good workout.  You’ll learn all about it in this interview. This week:  We recap Ironman Lake Placid and we catch up with Dan Berlin, a blind endurance athlete, cyclist and Ironman.  Dan is a member of Team See Possibilities.  Dan Berlin and his guides go on epic endurance challenges never done before by a blind athlete, inspiring each individual, with or without disabilities, to go beyond their perceived limitations. They share inspiring stories about their history-making challenges with local children and their communities, and through the media, share them with the world. Dan is the Co-founder and CEO of Rodelle, a world leading vanilla extract company, Dan grew up in the chocolate town of Hershey, Pennsylvania and now lives in Fort Collins, Colorado with his wife and two children.  Over the course of twenty years, Dan gradually lost his eyesight from cone-rod dystrophy. He struggled with the limitations of his new reality, but instead of simply feeling sorry for himself, he came up with a new way to approach the rest of his life. He decided, despite his blindness, to become a marathoner.  Dan has since run twelve marathons, including NYC and Boston, completed several triathlons, was the first blind athlete to run across the Grand Canyon and back, ran the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in less than 13 hours, and recently completed his greatest challenge to date: climbing to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro in two and a half days.  Contact details below. This week we welcome Brian Boyle.  Brian has been an endurance athlete since 2007, but 14 years ago, he was learning how to walk again after being released from the ICU after being in a coma and on life support for 2 months. Brian’s incredible story has been featured on Ellen, NBC’s Today Show, ESPN, CNN, and several other programs throughout the country.   Brian’s story is about transforming a tragedy into a triumph, but it’s also about the universal ability that we all have to set goals and accomplish them. When a challenge is presented to us, we do our best to overcome whatever the situation is, and as a result, we learn something about ourselves through the process that makes us stronger.  He tells a personal and emotional story of his fight back from near death after a horrific automobile accident. He lost sixty percent of his blood, his heart had moved across his chest, and his organs and pelvis were pulverized. Brian had to be brought back to life eight times on the operating table. Brian’s journey of courage and determination has touched the hearts of millions, and his story and the message it carries has been celebrated around the world.
