I found this video after posting my video about the rocket mass heater workshop. This video shows the exhaust from the rocket mass heater we built.
There is the rocket stove with huge bench, a beautifully shaped cob structure complete with a few folks visiting in it.
Ernie and Erica Wisner have created over 700 rocket mass heaters, quite probably the most efficient woord burning stoves made. Ernie and Erica moderate the wood burning stoves forum at permies.com and help thousands of people build these stoves. This video is of their latest wood burning stove. They've had snow on the ground for months, and have seen a fair bit of sub zero temperatures. And they stay warm all day with just one small fire each day. We talk about how warm we feel indoors 19 hours after the last fire was burned. This wood burning stove has some enhancements over other rocket mass heaters in that it has a barrel top that will come off, plus the barrel has an extension at the bottom. The heat riser core is made of firebrick. After a couple months of use you can see the ash build up inside.
Rocket Stove Mass Heater: Basically, this is a super efficient wood burning stove, with a cob bench bench thermal mass to hold the heat. One tiny fire can heat a room (and warm your butt) for a day!
First, fry a single egg on a cast iron griddle, and then a six egg scramble on a cast iron skillet. Using a bit of bacon grease. Salt and pepper on the skillet. Focus on proper heat and on cleanup. Proper spatula examined. Powered by the article "cooking with cast iron ain't so hard!" I advocate that any use of a skillet should be a cast iron skillet.
