Playing to Win | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 38:01

Dealing with Disappointments Cliff’s says his usual answer to the how are you question is “I have never been better and it gets better every day”, but today he is struggling with a huge disappointment by a friend. The friend made a commitment and then didn’t call, just sent an impersonal email saying that the commitment was not going to happen. Then, to make things worse, the friend said they never realized any benefits from the arrangement.  Cliff was floored. Tracy talked through some possible reasons for the friend’s actions and the root cause of Cliff’s disappointment. When something happens both parties must be willing to talk the situation through and find the thing that triggered the response/reaction. It could be fear. Often times people react from something that scares them or revives an old fear. Forgiveness can often get people to open up to their trigger thoughts and allow true forgiveness and a new beginning for both people. Fear is a powerful emotion. Tracy said he struggles like everyone else. His business isn’t doing as well as it was this time last year, but he can’t focus on the negative aspects. As long as he has a loving wife and children, he considers himself a success. What is Your Motivation? Tracy’s topic for this podcast is motivation. Tracy and his team are reading and discussing the book, “Training Camp: What the Best Do Better than Anyone Else” by Jon Gordon. In part, it asks three basic questions: When you’re playing, are you playing to win or playing not to lose? When you’re working, are you working to succeed or working not to fail? In life, are you running toward something or running from something? If you are playing to win, working to succeed and running toward something you are progressing, taking positive actions, and moving forward. Those actions show your hope, faith, the fact that you know life is bigger than just you. Conversely, playing not to lose, working so you don’t fail or running away from life stagnant at best or move you backward, making negative actions, being reactionary rather than proactive and most likely, living in fear. If you ask yourself these questions, it could change your life. Cliff listens to a podcast by Dan Miller, who tells the story of a man that had a business that was always doing well, then it tanked. It was difficult for the man to move forward with his life. He was told to go to the gym and work out for two hours each day. The man decided to do it. Once he was successful doing that, he looked for other areas at which he could be successful. Eventually, he was able to overcome the fear that he would never be successful again. Tracy said planning is key. If he wanted to go to Kentucky to visit Cliff, he couldn’t just show up at the airport and go. He would need to make reservations, reserve a rental car, have both Cliff’s address and a map of the area, and so forth. He and his wife have a goal of running a marathon later this summer. They made a plan to reach their goal. They run each day, slowly increasing the distance to ensure they can be successful with the marathon. Plans are necessary. After All is Lost You can only live up to your own standards/values, not someone else’s. Sometimes we have to let go to move forward. Sometimes things are easier to let go if you’ve already lost everything. Cliff has friends that lost their home in a tornado. They had talked about decluttering, but once everything was gone it was so much easier to choose those things they wanted to replace for their new home. People that lose everything in business are often better able to put their work and personal life in balance moving forward. Things to remember: Determine the trigger. Ask yourself the 3 life-changing questions from Jon Gordon’s book. Know when to let go. Miscellaneous Information Cliff will soon announce his next A to Z Podcasting course. This is currently scheduled for July. This is a paid course; however,

What is True Success? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 35:59

Where Do You Carry Your Sunshine? Tracy asked Cliff how he’s doing to which Cliff replied, “I’m doing extremely well”.  Tracy told him he liked that answer and would expect nothing less because Cliff is such a positive, glass half-full person.  Cliff shared a quote, one he truly believes and lives by that is from a fellow podcaster who often says, “I choose to carry my sunshine on the inside.” Choose to Be Happy Tracy told the story of Robin Williams, stand-up comedian, who wanted very much to have a show (sit-com) of his own.  He was able to achieve that dream when he landed a small role on “Happy Days” that led to the show “Mork and Mindy”.  The trouble was his fame made him miserable.  He drank, did drugs and suffered a divorce.  The success didn’t make him happy.  He had to decide to be happy.  We must also choose to be happy. What is True Success? Cliff knows he is truly a success!  A man Cliff admires received an email asking for a podcast guru reference.  The man not only recommended Cliff as the go to person for all things podcast, but said Cliff was a good Christian man as well.  The definition of success is not about the work we do, it’s about the person we are.  The person we live and show others every day. Cliff played an audio email from a listener.  She shared that she was touched by last week’s podcast that talked about trigger thoughts.  She has battled anorexia for years and the information shared helped her to realize what she hears or sees that trigger her eating issues.  Tracy and Cliff are very happy to know that the things they talk about, the experiences they share are having an effect on others.  That is the real measure of success; helping others. Success if moving toward a pre-defined goal.  That definition fits into the three keys to success that Tracy has shared in earlier podcasts.  Determine the goal and believe it can be achieved.  Write it down and move toward that goal every day.  Share your goal with others so they can help you achieve it. The A.R.E. Principle The A.R.E. Principle is explained in the book, “Creating the Magic” by Lee Cockrell.  Mr. Cockrell ran Disneyworld in Florida for about 10 years.  He was brought on board after his success with opening and operating Disneyworld Euro.  The Florida company was a mess with a hierarchal management and a large percentage of employee turnover.  He applied the A.R.E. principle to pull people into his plan to achieve success.  A is appreciate, R is recognize and E is encourage.  Using A.R.E. helps build friendship, loyalty and teamwork.  Each day, whether it is for a business or in our daily lives, we need to ask ourselves how can we appreciate, recognize and encourage those around us.  People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Things to remember: Choose to be happy! Learn what triggers your reactions, then adjust. Look for ways to appreciate, recognize and encourage those around you. Question for Listeners How have you applied the A.R.E. principle in your life? Leave a comment below or contact us using one of the methods below and let us know.  Living In The Now | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 39:55

Remembering Dr. David H. Foster Cliff’s mentor and encourager, Dr. David H. Foster, a pastor in Nashville, TN, passed away.  He preached the last sermon in a series, “Six People You’ll Meet on the Way to Heaven”, Sunday morning, was so energized he skipped lunch and went for a seven mile run, spent the rest of the afternoon with family, went to bed about eight PM and was found the next morning by his wife. Dr. Foster was a very giving man.  He had been on a few of Cliff’s podcasts before and was scheduled to have a podcast with Cliff recorded in the Foster home next weekend.  Dr. Foster said it is not what you do, say or have, but how you make people feel that they will remember when you’re gone.  Cliff was honored to have this man of influence support him and encourage him.  Cliff said one thought that came to him when he learned of Dr. Foster’s death, was “who can he turn to now”.  He said that was a little silly because the answer is obviously – God. What Is Your Legacy? Tracy asked Cliff what the strongest thing Dr. Foster left with Cliff.  Cliff said it would be the knowledge that God loves him, what he does is important and that what he does matters, but mostly that God loves him. We need to live our lives to influence others positively; to live our lives as an example for others.  What legacy are we going to leave behind?  We need to help others reach their goals and obtain their success/happiness to be truly happy ourselves.  Life is not about us, it’s about those around us. Living in the Now So many people are not enjoying life today because they are living / looking forward to the future.  If they only had a bigger house, a new car, the next great gadget then they’d be happy, but when they obtain that goal, they still aren’t happy because they have moved on to the next great goal in their lives.  They need to be happy with what they have today as well as plan for the future.  They need to stop and enjoy their life. Cliff struggles with busy work to keep up to where he is today.  He is happy with his life, but still struggles with not working as much as possible.  Tracy too often feels guilty if he’s not working.  He is currently in Florida on a family vacation and although he feels guilty if he’s not working, he promised his family he would work as little as possible.  Sometimes we worry about keeping income coming in.  Worry is believing the worst will happen and faith is believing the best will happen.  If you focus on the positive, your life will be more positive.  Worry is fear and we need to conquer the fear. Do You Trust God to Step Out? Cliff told of a man, George Mueller, that wanted to be a missionary to poor Russians.  He had training upon training, but still was told he wasn’t ready to do God’s work.  He finally decided he was going to trust God.  He had no source of income, but he journaled his life as he went about doing what he felt led to do and it was amazing how money continued to show up as needed.  One story tells about how now he builds multi-million dollar orphanages, but in the beginning, he had opened an orphanage and was completely out of food and had no money to buy any.  He asked the orphans to come sit at the table and pray.  While they were praying, a bakery truck broke down and needed to give away the bread so it wouldn’t spoil.  God provided exactly what was needed.  He will do the same for us. Things to remember Live your life as an example to others. Life is not about us, but those around us. God loves YOU! Question for Listeners What challenges do you face in living in the moment?  What Is A Trigger Thought? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 43:41

Sharing Wisdom Cliff’s brother is at a point in his life where he needs encouragement without pressure.  Cliff sent him the book, “The Traveler's Gift: Seven Decisions that Determine Personal Success” by Andy Andrews.  His brother loves the book and re-reads sections of it often.  Cliff asked Tracy about his books, “Restored” and “Just Believe”.  Tracy suggested Cliff send his brother “Just Believe”.  It is based, in part, on ten principles ascribed to by Napoleon Hill and his philosophy of success in your life. Listener Comments and Reviews Tracy shared an iTunes comment from a listener and an email from another listener named Trey telling how this podcast has changed their thinking and is helping them to reshape their lives.  Trey says he is taking control of the questions he feeds his subconscious. Trigger Thoughts Tracy has started writing a new book titled, “Trigger Thoughts”. When something happens in our lives and we react a certain way, that reaction is based on the “truths” stored in our brains.  We can examine those reactions to discover, what in our past, causes that reaction.  To react differently, we need to determine how we feel about the thing that happened and if our “truth” needs adjusting or rewriting, then that is what we do.  We retrain our brain to react appropriately to that situation and we can then trigger our real truth. Overcoming Guilt and Resentment To overcome feelings triggered when we feel self-guilt, depression, revenge or resentment we should have the words, “It is forgiven” come to our mind, instead of our old trigger thought “Somebody has to pay or be punished.” Cliff asked for clarification regarding the “guilt” feeling.  Cliff told of attending an event based on, “Growing Kids God’s Way” at which the phrase “constant state of potential guilt” was explained.  Tracy explained this was a case of a struggle with self-worth.  When we feel we are not worthy we need to remember:  We are okay.  We are not perfect, but nobody is perfect.  We are each a unique person.  There is only one of us and we have value.  We all effect people around us – it’s how we affect them that matters. Our experiences, our lives are valuable lessons to someone. To recap, we have automatic triggers and we need to have our subconscious help our conscious self to recognize the trigger and adjust our thinking to change our reaction. Inspirational Quote of the Day “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”  2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV ~ God via Paul the apostle Things to remember Find your trigger. Adjust/rewrite your reaction based on truth. You are valuable – you have worth. News and Updates Tracy will be speaking at the BlogWorld Expo in June (5th – 7th), Cliff recommends you attend if you can. Question for Listeners What Trigger Thoughts did you find in your life?  Inspiring Others To Action | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 30:36

Reaching Your Potential Everybody has potential.  They are using it now; every day.  It’s about living your life in your mindset.  If you say, “I can”, then as long as it’s within your realm (barring things that would take extraordinary abilities, such as athletic abilities), then you can.  If you say, “I could never”, you’re right.  You never will. It is your mindset, your core belief system, which either advances or retards you. The self-acclaimed “entrepreneurial shrink”, Peter Shallard, says “No matter who you are (or what your IQ is), you will answer every single mental question you pose yourself.  Therein lies the source of human potential.” What Are You Feeding Yourself If you want to reach your greatest potential, you much first believe you can achieve your dream and you must feed your subconscious positive thoughts, ask positive questions and give it positive assignments.  If you think about what you need to do to reach your goal, the subconscious, which works 24/7, will provide you with ideas to consider.  Rather than ask yourself things like, “Why don’t people like me?” or “What can go wrong?” ask yourself things like “What do people like about me?, or “What can I do to mitigate the risks?”. Focus On The Solution Cliff used the movie, “Apollo 13” as an example.  There were three astronauts, but only two could survive unless they would attach a round object in the square connection in the spacecraft.  No one knew how to solve the problem, but one man at mission control brought in a box of each part available to the men in the craft.  He said if they didn’t figure it out, the men would die.  Once they put their minds to the task of solution or else, they figured out how to do it.  We need to use that same approach when we have something we need to accomplish. Tracy said one of God’s greatest gifts to us is the creative subconscious that works 24/7.  We just need to focus on the assignments we give it and remember to BE POSITIVE. Inspirational Quote of the Day “Opportunity will not interest itself in someone who is not interested in it.”  ~ Napoleon Hill Understand Your “Why” Tracy shared a URL his daughter-in-law sent him:  www.ted.com/talks/simon_sinek_how_great_leaders_inspire_action.html Mr. Sinek talks about the need to understand our “Why”, our purpose, our mission.  Why we do or want to do in life.  Once you know the why, the how and what will come.  Other PC companies just want to build computers and make money.  Apple designed Macs to be a lifestyle.  If you know the why, people will be interested in supporting your how and what.  The Successful Life Mindset podcast is successful because the “why” answer in known:  to share the principles to help people learn to live their lives to its fullest potential.  The “what” is a podcast and the “how” is by getting together once a week to talk and share our experiences. Succeed Through Your Definiteness of Purpose If you want to be successful, you must figure out/understand you why, your purpose. If your only purpose is to make money, you are unlikely to inspire people.  The only way to truly be successful is to help others.  It’s internal; it sticks with you forever. Cliff wants everything he does to entertain, teach, encourage and inspire others. Things to remember Know your “why”, the how and what will come. Understand your core beliefs and adjust them, when required. Use your subconscious to reach your greatest potential. The first step is to believe!  Your Limitations Are Of Your Own Making | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 36:08

What Are You Putting In To Your Life?   What you put into your mind is what comes out in your life.  Be accountable to yourself and feed your mind positive thoughts. What Are Cliff and Tracy Doing? Lives of the podcasters:  Cliff took his first solo vacation.  He had a client meeting set up, but the client had to cancel.  The client suggested Cliff take advantage of all that was in place for the meeting.  Cliff and his wife enjoyed the weekend, then she flew home and Cliff took some relaxing “me” time for a few days.  Tracy has been traveling for business.  He attended the NRB convention in Nashville, followed by a trip to Honduras to help set up for a national event, “One nation, One day”, at which Honduras hopes to improve the image the world has of their country.  It is a Faith and Values Festival scheduled for July 2013. Your Limitations are of your own Making We sometimes put limitations on ourselves.  Tracy remembers when he directed his first movie, he was uncomfortable saying “I’m a director”, but by his third movie, he was comfortable with the phrase.  He now believes it and so he acts on that self-belief.  Napoleon Hill said, “Your mental attitude is something you can control outright and you must use self-discipline until you create a positive mental attitude – your mental attitude attracts to you everything that makes you what you are.  Cliff names each year.  For him, 2012 is “The year of Bigger Dreams”.  Three of the items on his list of goals for the year revolve around speaking engagements (#5, 6 & 8).  They are already accomplished and it’s only March.  Cliff wanted to be a keynote speaker.  It was important to him that people take his content, his career, serious; that his message gets exposure.  Having a session during a multi-session scheduled event means some at the event will come to hear what he has to say, but as keynote speaker, all will hear what he has to share. What Are You Creating? If you want to be somewhere else is life, believe it can happen, write it down, talk about it.  We are creative beings and we create things every day, the key is “what are we creating?”  When we speak our ideas/dreams, we feed our minds and then the subconscious can work to find a solution to make it happen.  In the book, “Millionaire Mindset”, by Gerry Roberts, we learn to go where people are that you want to be like.  Emulate them, it’s not be a fake or phony, it’s learning how to live that life.  You learn to achieve your goal through a one day at a time process. Impacting Honduras When Tracy was in Honduras, he shared his three key steps to achieving success with the Commander of the Police.  The man was so impressed, he asked if Tracy would speak with the 150 detectives that work for him.  Tracy agreed and shared these steps with the men.  After Tracy finished, the Commander spoke to his men.  He told him he wanted them to follow these steps: believe you can, write it down, and talk about it. What Is The Real Question? Tracy likes a book titled, “The Question Behind the Question”, by John G. Miller, which explores the real reason of the question.  Often a question is asked from a victim mentality such as “Who dropped the ball?”, when the real question should be something like “What can we do to provide better service?”  Asking the right questions for the right reasons is a sign of good leadership.  John Wooden said, “A true leader is one who turns around and has other people following him.  Otherwise you're just going for a walk!”  Many books talk about the victim mentality.  If it’s not working for you, ask yourself if you have written down the tasks you need to do to make your dream happen.  Focus on those things that matter.  Sometime fear will get in the way and stop us from taking that next step.  Overcome the fear.  Try to develop relationships with people than can help you, but sometimes it’s scary because they are at the next level and you think you can’t get there.

Core Belief System | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 30:49

The Theophostic Prayer   Sunday, Tracy and his family were attending church services and the sermon was about theophostic prayer.  Theophostic prayer is using prayer to allow God to expose things in your life that impact how you think.  It allows people to recall memories that make up our core beliefs about ourselves and situations we encounter in life. Core Belief System These core beliefs are those “facts” we store in the file storage of our brains to pull out and use as truth when we encounter similar situations.  Our brain is like a computer.  We store everything that ever happens to us.  When we have a “knee-jerk” reaction or fear overwhelms us and we don’t know where it comes from, we need to stop and examine what we believe to be true about the situation and what in our past led us to believe it.  Our subconscious works 24/7 and stores whatever we feed it. What Do You Believe To Be True About You? Tracy talked about the time his Dad asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up and Tracy responded he was going to be a mechanic, like him.  His dad said he didn’t want to upset him, but that Tracy wasn’t very mechanical.  Tracy’s brain recorded this event and each time he was faced with a mechanical situation, he believed he wasn’t very good at it.  Finally, he thought about it, decided he actually was a mechanical type person, and needed to rewrite that belief in his brain from years before. Replace Your Negative Belief With A Positive Belief He visualized going to the file cabinet, removing the card that said he wasn’t mechanical, crumbling it up and replacing it with a card that said he was mechanical.  Now when he is faced with a situation requiring mechanical abilities, he volunteers to help or to do that task because he now believes he is mechanical.  It’s all a matter of retraining the brain to see something differently.  Cliff had a similar situation regarding his view of spending money on himself.  He had no trouble spending money on others, but when it was something just for him, he felt guilty.  He remembered an event when he wanted something that was expensive at a time when his family had a financial pinch.  His mother said he could have the scooter for his birthday, but his dad was upset pointing out that the money they would need to use was supposed to be for a family vacation.  Cliff was present, but could hear the arguing that ended with a huge cookie jar of money being broken and change spilling everywhere.  Whenever Cliff thought of using money for something just for him, his brain recalled this event and sent him messages that this was wrong and selfish.  He now realizes that spending money on him is okay. The Three Keys to Success Therefore, through theophostic prayer, we ask God, “Why do I feel this way?”, so He can expose things to us so that we can adjust our core beliefs to reflect truth. To move from idea to reality, we need to follow Tracy’s three-step process: Believe it’s possible, you believe it because you are already doing the thing you believe Write it down, throw away the old belief and rewrite the new truth Talk about it to yourself and others that may offer insight and a new way to look at your situation. Are You The Problem Or The Solution Tracy was talking with a friend about something and he told his friend the problem was he was an entrepreneurial type person, the friend said, no; the solution is that you are an entrepreneurial type person.  Once Tracy looked at the situation in that light, things fell into place and he no longer thought of being entrepreneurial as a problem. A Paradigm Shift of Perspective Changing our core beliefs is a type of paradigm shift.  Cliff said when he was about sixteen the phrase paradigm shift was “in”.  He wasn’t certain what that meant, but when reading the book by Steven R Covey, “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” and seeing the old woman/young woman image, he got it.

How Much Money Do You Plan To Make? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 33:38

How Much Money Do You Plan to Make   Cliff is forming a Podcast Mastermind group.  He has an application he sends those that wish to join the group.  It has a number of yes or no questions and he anticipates that most, if not all answers will be a yes.  One question received a no by 13 of the 50 people that completed the application.  The question is, “Have you decided how much money you desire to make over the next 12 months?”  Not how much, but have you decided how much.  In other words, do you make goals for your future – financial or otherwise?  While money should never be the most important thing, it is important.  If you work hard, you should expect to be rewarded.  We place value on family and friends; we should place a value on financial security.  If we place no value on family or friends, they might not stick around, if we place no value on money it might not stick around either and we do have needs that require payment. You Always Hit What You Are Aiming At The bottom line is if we have no goals in life, no target then we’re sure to hit it.  We need goals to help us focus on what tasks are important.  We need to identify the next level we want to achieve (doesn’t have to be a monetary goal) and writing it down will help us put our thoughts in motion on ways to accomplish that goal.  Tracy’s three keys to success are: First believe it’s possible, if you don’t believe it can happen – it won’t. Write the goal/dream down. Tell others about it. It not only helps us think about way to get it done, but when we tell others they will offer ideas for us to help us obtain our goals.  We can adopt the victim mentality when we don’t get what we want and say it’s our circumstances or someone else caused it, but if we fail to make goals, we don’t earn the right to whine about it.  If we make goals, believe in them, work toward it, things will get better. The Power of Goals and Focus Cliff gave four examples of things that happened to him that show how true this process is. He and his wife were newly married with not much money.  Cliff saw a PC he wanted, but it was way out of their budget.  He made getting the PC a goal so he could set some things in motion that would eventually help them reach other goals.  Once he had earning the additional funds for the PC in his mind, his subconscious that works 24/7 gave him ideas to make enough money.  He bought the PC. He and his wife were at a Dave Ramsey event and were exposed to the need for an emergency fund of one-thousand dollars.  Dave Ramsey said this was essential to financial security and living debt free.  He said he knew many people would say it wasn’t possible to have an extra thousand dollars to build the fund, but he told them if they had a sick child, but no insurance and that the child needed a seven-thousand dollar surgery within the next 30 days or that child would die and the surgery had to be paid for prior to the day of surgery, they would find a way to get the money to save their child.  Think of this emergency fund the same way.  You need it to move forward toward a debt free life. Cliff and his family lived in a very old, very drafty home.  The kids kept getting sick.  Their top goal was moving into a healthier home.  Once that was a goal, they actively made choices that led them to be able to build a new home and move in within nine months. When his wife had their first child and wanted to be a stay-at-home mom.  They had discussed that they couldn’t afford to go to a single income family at that time.  Through no fault of hers, his wife was wrongfully terminated (she was later found not to be a fault, and was asked to come back to work).  Suddenly, they were a single income family.  They set goals, trimmed back the budget and made things work.  When she was invited to return to work, she was able to continue her goal of being a stay-at-home mom because of the choices they made to adjust their budget.

You Mean You Still Have Fears? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 33:03

Podcast Note: Podcast name has changed to The Successful Life Mindset. You Mean You Still Have Fears?   One of the biggest lies is that whatever you’re facing, you’re the only one ever to go through it.  Tracy has a friend that recently lost his business.  It brings up an old fear the one day it may all go away for Tracy too. Fear of Failure Tracy worked at a tool and die shop for a while.  He worked there off and on for a time.  His entrepreneurial spirit won out and he opened a company, James Design, and developed a newspaper.  He had a reoccurring dream that his business failed and he went back to work in the machine shop.  All the co-workers said things like, “See, you couldn’t do it”, “See, we know you’d be back.”  He’s tried to figure out why he has this dream from time to time – not enough hugs from dad, seeking approval from others – the root cause hasn’t surfaced yet, but even when things are going well he may think this way.  He recently posted “It’s not about the storms than hit you, it’s where you seek shelter when they hit” on Facebook.  When he feels this way, his wife very wisely councils him:  What if?  What would happen?  So what! The Only Failure is a Failure to Learn Tracy learned that you can’t be all thing to all men.  When he did suffer the loss of a business some time ago, he learned many things.  Some of those things were to be better organized, he learned his strengths and weaknesses and the need to find people with abilities to shore up those weaknesses.  We don’t fail when we take whatever happens and learn from it.  You only fail if you fail to learn. We All Have Fears to Face Cliff was delighted to learn that as successful as Tracy is that he still has fears occasionally.  It is reassuring to Cliff.  We all deal with the same fears.  Sometimes perception is more real than reality.  If we focus on fear, it will be created in our lives.  We need to believe in ourselves and conquer fear when it strikes. Cliff received a terrible email.  Everything in it was negative.  Not constructive criticism, just criticism.  Cliff was able to overcome the cruel and hurtful words because he knew he was not alone.  He surrounded himself with people that are like-minded, successful and supportive as he addressed any aspect of the email that held truth. Inspirational Quote of the Day Steve Jobs once said, “You get told that the world is the way it is, but life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact; and that is that everything around you that you call life was made up by people no smarter than you.  Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again.” If It Can Be Done, You Can Do It! The truth is if it can be done, I can do it.  We are not defined by our successes or failures; it is by who you are as a person, your heart and soul.  Get past the fear and you can change your life. Things to remember We all have fears, it's how we deal with them that matters. So what! Face your fears.  Self Sabotaging Mindsets | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 45:04

Podcast Note: Podcast name has changed to The Successful Life Mindset. Self-Sabotaging Mindset   Cliff recorded a huge change to his podcasting line-up.  He examined his podcasts and his motivation for each one of them; he ended or is ending many of them this week.  Some had simply run their natural course, others he started for certain reasons but those reasons have changed and still others he only kept going because he wanted to be the best, have the most, say I can.  After reading a book, “The 4-Hour Workweek” by Tim Ferriss, and thinking about things God put on his heart, Cliff decided many of his podcasts were busy work rather than helping him to move forward toward his personal and business goals for the future.  When you find yourself doing busy work, change your work pattern.  Cliff wants to put in writing, a formal mission statement, a list of core values and a list of goals to help with his future business decisions. Write Down Your Vision and Your Goals Written down and firmly entrenched in your mind, you will be able to decide quickly if new opportunities are in-line with your values and goals.  Just because an opportunity presents itself doesn’t mean it must be taken.  If there is no passion for something, don’t do it.  Before you do commit to something be sure you understand what you are committing yourself to and remember nothing is forever, other than the unconditional love of God.  Don’t be afraid to commit to something because you may not want to do it forever.  Stepping into the unknown brings fear, but it also presents the opportunity for unlimited possibilities. What are You Programmed to Believe? Cliff has been reading a book by T. Harv Eker, “The Secrets of the Millionaire Mindset”.  It has changed his way of viewing things in life.  The way we think about things is primary based on our programming and our modeling of that thing.  Programming might be how our parents viewed that thing, how our friends or co-worker view that thing.  Modeling is how we saw others act based on their beliefs about that thing.  Often our programming comes from the view people have based on their fears. An example Cliff used was how he thought about being rich.  His programming told him money is evil, rich people take advantage of other, less fortunate people and if you try to be rich, it’s because you don’t trust God.  These are all normal programming ideas of the lower to middle-class mindset of the rich. What Do You Really Believe About This? Tracy said we all act and react to things based on our programming, but we must stop and ask ourselves – what do I really believe about this.  You mind knows the real answer and it will eventually tell you if you let it.  Once you get past the beliefs of others on a certain thing, you can form your own thoughts about it.  We are not our job and/or our accomplishments.  Who we are has to start from the inside; in our minds, in our hearts and in our relationships with spouse, family, co-workers, friends, and others. How Do You Move Forward In the Face of Fear? Tracy read an email from a listener.  She said she listened to Tracy telling about his three key steps to success and finally she gets that, but when she asked herself did she really believe she could do what she is driven to do, the answer was no.  She felt she wasn’t qualified.  To become qualified, she took that next step and got training.  She still feels fear about being able to do it.  Her question is, “How do you learn to feel the fear, but still move forward?” Tracy and Cliff agree the biggest lie is you are the only one with this problem.  Many people have the same issues while working toward success.  If the passion is there, you will keep moving forward and the passion will be strong enough to conquer the fear.  Not that the fear goes away, because when one goes away another will take its place at your next level of success, but that you will get through the fear.
