 Two Wolves | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:52:39

This week we have a lamentable lack of Pete Wells but a joyous excess of Alec Fraser! Alec is something of a comic-book expert so we talk a lot about the film and TV ventures of Marvel and DC. We also talk Mad Max and discuss in some depth a film we saw just for this… Continue reading Two Wolves

Nine Tenths of the Law | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:10:19

A bit of a mixed bag this week! Pete saw the Helen Mirren starrer Woman in Gold and caught up with the action vehicle that was meant to launch Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the successor to Schwarzenegger, The Rundown (aka Welcome to the Jungle). It was our homework from like two years ago or something.  The Madness of King George | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:03:23

What a lovely day! This week we have complicated feelings about SBS doco Struggle Street and comparatively simple ones about the long-awaited and much-hyped Mad Max: Fury Road. If you haven’t seen Fury Road, go and see it before you listen. Like, right now. Why are you still here? Go! For homework there’s Australian doco So Help Me God and, of […]

 Pictures, Pitches. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:08:43

This week we talk Banksy Does New York and Pitch Perfect 2. For homework, we have the original Pitch Perfect. And that’s it. The Shoot the Glass podcast! With Pete and Justin!

 Popcornucopia | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:29:26

It's all about Avengers: Age of Ultron this week, dear listeners! We talk about it, we have a spoiler section for it, and after the show is over we think of lots of clever and interesting things we didn't say about it. Ahh, well... happens every time! We also talk TV with Better Call Saul and Daredevil and discuss a bet that Pete made with friend of the show James Croft over what order the tentpole blockbusters will rank in the box-office take this year. And even though we don't normally go into marketing and stuff in much depth, we couldn't help but talk about the trailers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Jurassic World and Mad Max: Fury Road. For homework, we have the Elizabeth Olsen-starring films Martha Marcy May Marlene and Liberal Arts. And the opposite of homework is Stranded, starring Christian Slater. Do not watch this film. You have been warned. Finally, Pete hooks us up with a clip from an FX house that decided to re-colourise the bleached palette of Man of Steel. Looks like the added some more fun if you ask me! So get to the cinema early with Pete and Justin so we can collectively notice that franchise titles sure do go nuts on the colons, don't they? And they're all franchise movies now, aren't they? And movie trailers sure are full of percussion these days, am I wrong? And the popcorn and choc-tops? That's how they get you.

The Fast and the Inescapable | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:16:59

This week we talk about the physics-free Furious Seven, the ingenious horror of It Follows, and the unexpectedly great Netflix superhero series Daredevil. For homework there's A Nightmare on Elm Street (classic!) and Cabin in the Woods (self-aware beyond all reason!). So why don't we get you out of these wet clothes and... hey! Don't be scared baby! That noise was just the wind. There's nobody out here at Murder Creek except you and me... and Pete and Justin on the Shoot The Glass podcast!

The Proper Application of Guns | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:12:08

Winners don't use guns, kids. Except in the movies! In the movies, all the winners use guns! Yay guns! This week we talk about Keanu's big comeback in John Wick, Eastwood's take on a real life war-hero in American Sniper, and an ex-superhero-actor playing an ex-superhero-actor in Birdman. Pete also watched the Annotated Star Wars, which is pretty cool. For homework there's HBO's series Generation Kill, the film Jarhead, and the classic western from the director of American Sniper, Unforgiven. So come sit under the tree on the hill with Pete and Justin and take another drink... 'cause we all have it coming, kid.

 Children’s Stories | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:21:33

We kick off 2015 with a discussion of the Golden Globes: what we liked, what we didn't, and the unavoidable lament that comperes Tina and Amy had so little time at the ceremony. Then we talk about Disney flick Big Hero 6, the final Middle-Earth film The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies and musical Into The Woods. For homework we have Chicago, Agent Carter and Jane the Virgin. So pull up a wheelchair, grab a pair of binoculars and explore the inherent voyeurism of cinema with Pete and Justin on the Shoot the Glass podcast!

 2014 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:45:47

What it says on the tin! So come and reflect on the year that was with Pete and Justin on the Shoot the Glass Podcast!

Suck It, Ball Hater! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 39:34

This week we talk about Alan Turing biopic The Imitation Game, Linklater's Boyhood, and indie-style flick St. Vincent starring Bill Murray. More importantly, though, the title of this episode comes from this article. Because the ball is practical. For homework we have Scrooged and Rushmore. So come and be convinced that Pete and Justin are human beings -- even though all they are is just sounds from a computer -- on the Shoot the Glass podcast!

 Celling Out | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 41:22

This week we talk about Aussie schlocker Turkey Shoot, Oscar-bait The Judge, star-studded sequel Horrible Bosses 2, and Luc Besson's latest girl-kicks-arse masterpiece Lucy. For homework we have We're the Millers and Leon, also known as The Professional and Leon: The Professional. So engage 100% of your brain and become a genius arse-kicking technological deity with Pete and Justin on the Shoot the Glass podcast!

Two Stones for One Bird | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 48:12

Hello, dear listeners! This week we talk about Jake Gyllenhaal's method turn in Nightcrawler, a sympathetic revisionist telling of Dracula's story in Dracula Untold, and the first part of the final part of a trilogy that isn't a trilogy, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1. For homework, we have Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Fincher's Zodiac. Both of these star Jake Gyllenhaal but only one is worth your time. I think you know which one. So may the odds be ever in your favour with Pete and Justin on the Shoot The Glass podcast!

The Hammers are in Aisle Four | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:06:49

The Equalizer, Kill the Messenger and Interstellar on this week's podcast. All good things to talk about! Well, things that are good to talk about. And for homework we have Shooter and Dark Star, one of which is a classic in the good way. So let your love transcend space and time with Pete and Justin on the Shoot the Glass podcast!
