It's all about Avengers: Age of Ultron this week, dear listeners! We talk about it, we have a spoiler section for it, and after the show is over we think of lots of clever and interesting things we didn't say about it. Ahh, well... happens every time! We also talk TV with Better Call Saul and Daredevil and discuss a bet that Pete made with friend of the show James Croft over what order the tentpole blockbusters will rank in the box-office take this year. And even though we don't normally go into marketing and stuff in much depth, we couldn't help but talk about the trailers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Jurassic World and Mad Max: Fury Road. For homework, we have the Elizabeth Olsen-starring films Martha Marcy May Marlene and Liberal Arts. And the opposite of homework is Stranded, starring Christian Slater. Do not watch this film. You have been warned. Finally, Pete hooks us up with a clip from an FX house that decided to re-colourise the bleached palette of Man of Steel. Looks like the added some more fun if you ask me! So get to the cinema early with Pete and Justin so we can collectively notice that franchise titles sure do go nuts on the colons, don't they? And they're all franchise movies now, aren't they? And movie trailers sure are full of percussion these days, am I wrong? And the popcorn and choc-tops? That's how they get you.

This week we talk about the physics-free Furious Seven, the ingenious horror of It Follows, and the unexpectedly great Netflix superhero series Daredevil. For homework there's A Nightmare on Elm Street (classic!) and Cabin in the Woods (self-aware beyond all reason!). So why don't we get you out of these wet clothes and... hey! Don't be scared baby! Winners don't use guns, kids. Except in the movies! In the movies, all the winners use guns! Yay guns! This week we talk about Keanu's big comeback in John Wick, Eastwood's take on a real life war-hero in American Sniper, and an ex-superhero-actor playing an ex-superhero-actor in Birdman. Pete also watched the Annotated Star Wars, which is pretty cool. For homework there's HBO's series Generation Kill, the film Jarhead, and the classic western from the director of American Sniper, Unforgiven. So come sit under the tree on the hill with Pete and Justin and take another drink... 'cause we all have it coming, kid.

We kick off 2015 with a discussion of the Golden Globes: what we liked, what we didn't, and the unavoidable lament that comperes Tina and Amy had so little time at the ceremony. Then we talk about Disney flick Big Hero 6, the final Middle-Earth film The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies and musical Into The Woods. For homework we have Chicago, Agent Carter and Jane the Virgin.
