This week, Bruce's 2nd attempt at shooting fire twirlers... which was better than last week's efforts, but still desperately in need of improvement (images at the end of this post), the Seattle gixapixel project, with all it's hidden treasures, a DIY project for a whiteboard/reflector holder, a method for reassigning the autofocus function of your DSLR to a button OTHER than your shutter button, instacurves (iOS only), the Fuji X-T1, the future of quadcopters, plus the guy who set the ball rolling back in 1906, 43 reasons to give up photography, and realtime video retouching. Happy New Year, everyone! This week, Glynn is loving his finger dots (no, seriously!). CPW got behind the Heartfelt initiative to supply neo-natal wards with quality camera/printer kits for photographing stillborn deliveries, raising enough money in 24 hours to supply two kits! Fuji and Panasonic announce a new organic cmos sensor, The ultimate selfie camera, the MeCam, Carl Hemmings brought the portfolio of Elena Shumilova to our attention, Bruce came across the time-travelling antics of Japanese photographer Chino Otsuka, Canon has patented a 100x Superzoom Camera, although Glynn is skeptical as to just how useful such a thing will be, Adam Davidson alerted us to the portfolio of Angela Kelly, who discovered that blowing soap bubbles (with her son) in freezing cold environments produced surprising results, and Glynn has being doing some commercial photography, but finds the process not particularly challenging or rewarding. This week, our last episode for 2013! Bruce liked a post on Digital Photography School about 5 photography habits you should quit right now, the basejump that went horribly wrong, but was captured beautifully by his GoPro camera, Glynn has been wasting his days browsing (sorry... RESEARCHING on) Kickstarter for all manner of weird and wonderful photo-related projects. This week, we chat about Glynn's week in India, and if you haven't already, check out some of his amazing images at CPW, Rakesh alerted us to Queensbury Workspace, a new portal for photographers to both display and sell their images, Adam Davidson shared both this technique for slow shutter speed shooting without the need for in-camera noise reduction, and a kickstarter project for a lighting device known as a pixelstick (make sure you watch the video!), Daryl posted this link on Facebook which claimed that 90% of people have only ever shot a photo using a cell phone, plus I talk with Haje Jan Kamps from Triggertrap about how the company started, Arduino, and their currently-in-development project, Redsnap which is due to market early 2014.

This week, Glynn's scrabble woes, Richard Clark asked about how to price your services, Tim Kreider at the NYTimes implores slaves of the internet to unite, we're checking out Piccure, a Lightroom plugin for removing motion blur from your handheld shots, Bruce's salient comment about "local is boring after an exotic holiday location", the Olympus Stylus 1 with its built-in 28-300mm f2.8 lens(!), Glynn is bit annoyed by Darren Pearson and his time lapse light painting, more gold from the David duChemin video series, Glynn is cheking out a new social photo sharing app called Dubble, plus a couple of travel tips from Glynn.
