Happy New Year, everyone! This week, Glynn is loving his finger dots (no, seriously!). Fuji and Panasonic announce a new organic cmos sensor, The ultimate selfie camera, the MeCam, Carl Hemmings brought the portfolio of Elena Shumilova to our attention, Bruce came across the time-travelling antics of Japanese photographer Chino Otsuka, Canon has patented a 100x Superzoom Camera, although Glynn is skeptical as to just how useful such a thing will be, Adam Davidson alerted us to the portfolio of Angela Kelly, who discovered that blowing soap bubbles (with her son) in freezing cold environments produced surprising results, and Glynn has being doing some commercial photography, but finds the process not particularly challenging or rewarding. This week, we chat about Glynn's week in India, and if you haven't already, check out some of his amazing images at CPW, Rakesh alerted us to Queensbury Workspace, a new portal for photographers to both display and sell their images, Adam Davidson shared both this technique for slow shutter speed shooting without the need for in-camera noise reduction, and a kickstarter project for a lighting device known as a pixelstick (make sure you watch the video!), Daryl posted this link on Facebook which claimed that 90% of people have only ever shot a photo using a cell phone, plus I talk with Haje Jan Kamps from Triggertrap about how the company started, Arduino, and their currently-in-development project, Redsnap which is due to market early 2014.
