In 2012, with two world titles under his belt, Mick Fanning asked us for a unique way of recognising his pro achievements. We agreed, and his Black RC Sticker was born. To this day, Mick is the only surfer in our pro team history who has earned the right to run the Black Sticker. As he retired from competition this Easter at the 2018 Rip Curl Pro our elite pro team will honour his legacy by removing the red and running the black during the contest. The DC Surf team headed to France last month and found themselves with more lay days than not. When the waves were good Bruce Irons, Kanoa Igarashi, Leo Fioravanti and Zeke Lau pulled into heavy beach breaks and when they weren’t they traveled through the Basque Country finding other ways to have fun, going to events, go-karting, and road tripping.
