How to Squash Negative Thought Patterns | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 8:36

There are actually quite a number of ways to decondition a negative thought pattern.  The basic idea is to replace the old pattern with a new one.  Mentally resisting the negative thought will usually backfire — you’ll simply reinforce it and make it even worse.  The more you fire those neurons in the same way, the stronger the pattern becomes. Here’s a little method I use to break negative thought patterns. Read: How to Squash Negative Thought Pattern on StevePavlina.com

 5-Year Commitments | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 6:56

People commonly overestimate how far they can get in a year, but grossly underestimate how far they can get in 5 years. If you actually want results, make a 5-year commitment to a particular path, like building an online business, developing your social skills, becoming a world traveler, etc. A lesser commitment is largely pointless. 5-Year Commitments blog post on StevePavlina.com

If you maintain a negative limiting belief about your reality, such as a belief that this reality is insane, crazy, violent, indifferent, apathetic, etc., then your attitude will absolutely cream you. You can’t expect to get anywhere good with a belief that this reality is anything less than heavenly. http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2012/11/this-is-heaven/

Plodding and Bursting | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 16:43

Plodding and bursting are two different strategies for getting things done. Understanding these two modes will help you in two ways. First, you’ll be able to identify your own default mode, so you can better take advantage of it. And second, you’ll be able to understand others who prefer your non-dominant mode, so you can relate to them more effectively. http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2012/10/plodding-and-bursting/

Dealing With Others’ Insecurities | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 7:15

All Your Excuse Are Belong to Us | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4:15

Anyone can come up with an excuse to avoid taking action, and their excuses always seem valid. The difference between those who take action and those who don’t isn’t a matter of addressing the seemingly valid excuses. People don’t normally acquire more money to eliminate the “not enough money” excuse, nor do they create more time to overcome the time excuse. The way they succeed is by realizing that they’re creating and feeding these excuses, and they decide it’s time to stop feeding them. They realize that as long as they’re willing to feed excuses, there will always be an infinite supply. It’s never a good time. And there’s never enough money. And that isn’t ever going to change. And despite how valid these excuses may seem, they can’t stop a committed person. http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2012/09/all-your-excuse-are-belong-to-us/

Judging vs. Creating | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 10:00

I recently asked some people to explain the difference between being judgmental and being selective. I received dozens of different answers. Some people said that being selective is milder, more logical, less emotional, or more practical than being judgmental. Others felt they were just different words to describe the same thing. And still others had their own unique takes on the differences. However you differentiate these labels, they’re variations on the underlying theme of observing and evaluating. Once you make an evaluation, whether you prefer to call it judging or selecting or something else, you can make decisions based on your evaluations. This allows you to choose between different options, which is especially helpful when you can’t explore every option available to you. - Steve http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2012/08/judging-vs-creating/

Exercise Your Freedom Fully | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:58

Many people become self-employed to have more freedom and flexibility. Not as many take full advantage of those benefits though. It’s common for people to find themselves self-employed in ways that make them slaves to their desks. They may have removed their old boss, but they ride themselves just as hard as their old boss did. Others find themselves swimming in free time and squander it on low-quality rewards like TV and web surfing, the same rewards they took after working at a regular job. So where is that extra freedom? A freedom that isn’t exercised doesn’t feel particularly freeing. http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2012/08/exercise-your-freedom-fully/

Dancing with Raw | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 10:25

I went back to eating 100% raw again last week (being going a little over a week so far). Energy – The energy boost is undeniable. I have much more physical, mental, and emotional energy. I move faster, write faster, and get more done. Sleep – I sleep more deeply, and eating raw shaves about 30-60 minutes of my sleep requirements. My dreams become richer and more vivid; they seem longer and more intricate too. Meditation – It’s easier to concentrate when I meditate, and the experience is noticeably richer. http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2012/08/dancing-with-raw/
