It's the trial of the century! The prosecution and defense line up to examine and find the truth about Gyakuten Saiban a.k.a. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Ryan Hamann and Joshua Garrity from Cane and Rinse are joined by Susan Marmito of Ready Up! in a recording studio that's in Los Angeles. Definitely Los Angeles.  Zelda II: The Adventure of Link – Cane and Rinse No.204 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:59:55

In the second of our seventeen (!) planned The Legend of Zelda podcasts, we tackle notoriously tough 'odd man out', Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Indeed, the game's excessive difficulty put paid to planned panellists Josh and Sean, leaving Leon, Darren, Ryan - and not forgetting a wonderful heap of community contributions - to attempt to adequately convey the experience of playing through Nintendo's second Famicom/NES Zelda title. Music used in this issue: Track 1: Title by Akito Nakatsuka Track 2: Temple by Akito Nakatsuka Cane and Rinse 204 was edited by Sean O'Brien

 A little look back at 2015 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:14:09

Cane and Rinse contributors Leon, Darren, James, Josh, Ryan and Sean crack open the brandy and cigars and pass judgement on their personal 2015 gaming experiences. Cane and Rinse 2015 was edited by Ryan Hamann

 Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor – Cane and Rinse No.203 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:59:57

Monolith Productions (not to be confused with Monolith Soft) hit pay dirt when they combined JRR Tolkien's fantasy with core gameplay facets from the Assassin's Creed and Batman: Arkham franchises. The result, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (not to be confused with Shadows of Mordor). Rangers Leon, Brian, Josh, Karl and Ryan scout a relatively recent title by Cane and Rinse standards, and the community comes through with an (unpoisoned) orc feast of feedback and Three Word Reviews. Music used in this issue: Track 1: Could you really rest? by Nathan Grigg Track 2: Warchief 1 by Nathan Grigg Cane and Rinse 203 was edited by Jay Taylor

 Mass Effect 3 – Cane and Rinse No.202 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:58:49

Following on from issue 22 which covered Mass Effect 1 and 2, Josh, Brian, Karl and Ryan tackle the divisive final chapter of this space opera epic, Mass Effect 3. Did the panel feel like their choices throughout the series were respected? Did the characters that these four gentlemen fell in love with, get the closure they felt was deserved? ...And of course, how did they feel about that ending? Music used in this issue: Track 1: Leaving Earth by Clint Mansell Track 2: An End, Once and for All by Sam Hulick Track 3: Credits by Faunts Cane and Rinse 202 was edited by Sean O'Brien

The Legend of Zelda – Cane and Rinse No.201 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:58:49

The Cane and Rinse podcast returns for its fifth year with the start of its longest series yet. Just under 30 years ago, Nintendo released The Hyrule Fantasy: Zeruda no Densetsu for the Famicom Disk system. Much better known as The Legend of Zelda, Miyamoto and Tezuka's 1986 action RPG took influences from earlier videogames - as well as the creators' real-life experiences - but undoubtedly blazed many trails of its own. Leon, Darren, Joshua, Ryan and a glut of community contributors discuss what they enjoyed and what they didn't about playing the first, formative game of this mighty franchise. Music used in this issue: Track 1: Title BGM by Koji Kondo Track 2: Underground BGM by Grant Koji Kondo Track 3: Above Ground BGM by Koji Kondo Cane and Rinse 201 was edited by Ryan Hamann

 GoldenEye 007 – Cane and Rinse No.200 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:59:23

Because we failed to do it for issue 007, finally here it is for issue 200. That's right, to polish off our fourth year of the podcast we uncover the mystery and magic of Rare's much loved license, GoldenEye 007. Leon, Brian, Darren and Tony - along with a cartel of community contributors - reminisce about the innovations that the single-player added to the genre and the hours of fun that the split-screen multiplayer brought to the party. This being Cane and Rinse, we also discuss at length whether or not the game is worth returning to now, some 18 years on from its release at the time of recording. Music used in this issue: Track 1: Nintendo Rareware & Opening by Grant Kirkhope and Graeme Norgate Track 2: Chemical Warfare Facility by Grant Kirkhope and Graeme Norgate Cane and Rinse 200 was edited by Sean O'Brien

The driest and most reverent gaming organ around (that's us) comes face-to-face with possibly the most succulent and disrespectful - that's Digitiser, obviously.

 Just Cause 2 – Cane and Rinse No.199 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:54:55

In the penultimate issue of Volume Four, Ryan Hamann, Brian Tarran, Jay Taylor, and guest CJ Black explode into the action-packed Just Cause 2, with some discussion about the original Just Cause as well as some speculative pondering about its upcoming sequel. We also feature a community and contribution and from the developers themselves in the form of Three Word Reviews. Music used in this issue: Track 1: Oddworld: Abe's Oddy see opening by Ellen Meijers-Gabriel and Josh Gabriel Track 2: This is Rupture Farms by Ellen Meijers-Gabriel and Josh Gabriel Cane and Rinse 198 was edited by Jay Taylor

Concluding our run of Halo podcasts ahead of the release of Halo 5: Guardians, we turn our attention to Halo 4. Leon, Darren, Josh Karl and Tony - along with our ever-reliable community members - discuss how 343 Industries fared in picking up the Master Chief's weighty mantle from Bungie.

Podcast special: An interview with Denis Dyack | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3:17:33

Leon and James are joined by Denis Dyack and Phil Haymes of multimedia innovators Quantum Entanglement for this rare chat. Over the course of more than three hours Denis takes us from Silicon Knights' earliest endeavours, through the machinations of relationships with Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft right down to the specifics of his working relationship with the likes of Kojima and Miyamoto. Denis also bares all about the disappointment of Silicon Knights' final release, X-Men Destiny, the failed Kickstarters and even responds to us challenging his public support of the GamerGate movement. Finally, Denis and Phil explain to us what their exciting and ambitious new initiatives with Quantum Entanglement entail, and what the future holds for the pair. You really do not want to miss this one. Our sincere thanks again to Denis for contacting us out of the blue and suggesting that we record a show with him and Phil.

Podcast special: An interview with Greg Toppo | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 55:14

On this special edition of Cane and Rinse, Ryan Hamann interviews USA Today's top education writer, Greg Toppo, who was invited to speak about his new book, The Game Believes in You: How Digital Play Can Make Our Kids Smarter. In his book, Toppo makes the argument for video games being used in schools, and he provides many inspiring examples of children who have benefitted greatly by using games to make their academic environment more engaging and rewarding.

 Threes! – Cane and Rinse No.196 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:47:49

Ryan, Josh, Jay, and James swipe right to express their fondness for the deceptively simple iPhone mega-hit Threes. The panel discusses the developmental history of the card-swiping mobile title, recount the tragic story of its post-release copycats and clones, and talk about THAT SONG. As is always the case, we hear from the fabulous Cane and Rinse community and feature their creative Threes Word Reviews. Music used in this issue: Track 1: Threes Is the Bees Knees by Big Giant Circles Track 2: Threes Is the Bees Knees (Alt Unused Version) by Big Giant Circles Cane and Rinse 196 was edited by Ryan Hamann
