 Conker’s Bad Fur Day – Cane and Rinse No.218 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:55:04

Darren, Ryan, Cane and Rinse débutante Michiel Kroder and returning guest Jon Salmon discuss the potty-mouthed squirrel before, after and around the rather unorthodox platformer, Conker's Bad Fur Day. Focusing mainly on the original N64 comedy adventure, we discuss how a Scouse dung beetle sounds to non-English players, we consider what's it like to play the game for the first time in 2016 and whether the jokes stand the test of time fifteen years on. We also touch upon the Xbox 360 remake Conker: Live & Reloaded and its differences and maybe, possibly, speak about a giant opera-singing poo. Oh, and some Three Word Reviews, too! I mean, it'd be foolish of us not to, right? P.S. Contains bleeped swears. In the second of our current run of three id Software podcasts, Leon, Darren and Jon Salmon focus their ineffective flashlights on 2004's much-hyped DOOM 3.  Final Fight – Cane and Rinse No.214 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:00:00

Certainly not the first urban brawler although perhaps one of the most fondly remembered and influential, Capcom latterly entered the burgeoning arcade progressive beat-'em-up scene with 1989's Final Fight. Known as Street Fighter '89 during development, the game was eventually released without overt SF ties, though ended up donating various characters to later Street Fighter games (among others). Leon, James, Karl and special guest, Final Fight: Double Impact designer Andrew Smith - now of Spilt Milk Studios - bust out the spiked wristbands and aerosols (spray paint and hairspray) before discussing the game as well as its various conversions and legacy. Music used in this issue: Track 1: Opening Theme by Yoshihiro Sakaguchi Track 2: Opening Theme by Simon Viklund Cane and Rinse 214 was edited by Sean O'Brien Do you have an opinion about this particular game or maybe about our podcast in general?  Street Fighter Zero (Alpha) series – Cane and Rinse No.207 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:00:00

After the Street Fighter II series finally came to its end but before The New Generation's 2007 Street Fighter III debut, Capcom brought us... a whole ton of SF-related stuff: The 'Versus' series, a puzzle game, a kawaii spin-off, some chunky EX polygons, lots of Marvel stuff and the fun horror of the Vampire/Darkstalkers titles. But running throughout and ultimately overlapping this period came a prequel trilogy (plus multiple variants of course) of fondly-remembered, Anime-infused one-on-one fighting games, the Street Fighter Zero (aka Street Fighter Alpha) series. Leon and James are joined by Andi Hamilton of Midnight Resistance and Dan Bendon of Ready Up to reminisce about the joys of air-blocking, Alpha Counters and Isms.
