W0603 Israel finds themselves in a second battle at Ai. The first resulted in defeat because of Achan's sin. The sin has been purged, but this victory will take a lot more work than the one at Jericho. Lost ground is always hard to recover. In the spiritual, it ALWAYS better to do it right the first time than it is to recover lost ground!

W0604 Israel finds themselves making the same mistake of not consulting the Lord in prayer. As a result, they covenant with their enemies. The enemies trickery could have been revealed to them by the Lord if they would have only asked. We too face a clever enemy, but he is no match for the Lord.

W0609 As Joshua is distributing the land to the tribes, Caleb steps out from among the crowd and asks for Hebron, the land promised him by Moses. At 85 he is as strong in the Lord as he was at 45. He is not only given the land - he conquers the 3 giants IN the land. The only one to gain complete victory.

 Joshua 17:14-18 | File Type: audio/x-mpegurl | Duration: Unknown

W0610 In contrast to Caleb, Pastor John looks at Joseph's people and their respond to the land that was given to them by Joshua. They saw only obstacles and thought the land was too small for their "greatness". Joshuah told them to cut down the trees and drive the enemies from the land and there would be enough room.

 Joshua 18: 01-03, 20:01-06 | File Type: audio/x-mpegurl | Duration: Unknown

 Joshua 23 | File Type: audio/x-mpegurl | Duration: Unknown

W0612 Twenty years have passed since Israel crossed the Jordan and entered the Promised Land. Seven tribes have still not driven out the enemies and occupied their land. Joshua is growing old and wants to remind Israel that victory comes through obedience. Pastor John points out some principles to keep us from growing comfortable with the enemy and letting our love for the Lord wax cold.

 Joshua 24:1-24 | File Type: audio/x-mpegurl | Duration: Unknown

W0613 Joshua's last farewell. He recounts all the Lord has done for them and exhorts them to follow the Lord and not compromise. He tells them to fully enter the land and possess all the Lord had given them. They are of course in agreement and stand firm that they will follow the Lord, but history confirms that they did not. Their failure to drive out the enemy cost them all that they had gained. Even as New Testament Christians, we must be extremely careful of compromise. We should always be evaluating and eliminating ANYTHING that might keep us from the fullness of Jesus
