Cigars and Scotch Podcast

We are honored to have Ren Mireless from Georgessmokeshop.com once again on the show. He is like our fifth Beatle! Ren gives us some great insight into the world of cigars as we try the Cult Classic robusto and sip on some Glenrothes Single Cask. After we coax Ren into actually drinking the good stuff, our topics move from smoking at our weddings and hiding your attitude from the TSA and the ladies who enjoy a fine cigar. Is that what you are going to wear?

In this show we go down a different a path and hit the biggest cigar you have ever seen in the Asylum Schizo 7x70. It is amazing we are able to talk with these monsters, but we plug ahead and drink some Knob Creek Small Batch instead of our normal and beloved single malts. This leads us to a hearty discussion comparing bourbon drinkers and scotch drinkers. For some reason we talk about the Pope and quitting jobs. Good times. Where did the Pope go?

Episode 32 - The Wet Blanket Episode In this show, Dan and Jon sample and rate the Partagas 1845 Robusto as well as some fine Dalmore 12yr Highland scotch. Then the boys talk about the realities of life and what it means to lose an acquaintance. Good thing they had a dram or three to drown their sorrows! Through it all they keep their cigars lit and drams loaded for the good of society! Enjoy and be thankful for whatchya got!

Dan and Jon class the joint up a bit by bringing in cigar and drink connoisseur, Eric Scism from Stogiesonthrocks.com. Eric joins the guys via the Interwebs to talk about cigars, his website and his unique style of reviews and artwork, as well as how he grew into the aficionado he is today. Also, Dan and Jon give him hell on his upcoming nuptials and try to weasel their way into his bachelor and/or wedding party. If I bought my bourbon in Scotland would it be Scotch?

Episode 30 - Don't Worry, Be Happy! In this episode, Dan and Jon ruminate on the things that make you happy and what keeps you from being so. In this case, what makes us happy are 1916 cigars from Carlos Torano and a nice dram or three of Glenfarclas 17yr. Yes, it does not take much for them to be happy, and it should be that way with you. Don't be a grump. That means you.

Once again, Dan and Jon set out to drink and smoke the good stuff in the Ground Zero Studios. Today, they consume some PC7 by Bruichladdich and sample a few types of Alec Bradley smokes, the Black Market and the American Classic. Then, once that nonsense is established, the guys go one about the ways in which they were able to corral their alcohol prior to being "legal." Not like they did anything wrong or off'ed anyone, right? (Sheesh) Clean up in islay five, please.

Right! Dan and Jon welcome themselves back to relevancy in the first episode of 2013. Back for the attack, they smoke some Rocky Patels and Crowned Heads while imbibing in the luxuriant Clynelish 14yr Highlands single malt. Since it is the beginning of the year, the guys get all preachy on your arse and go over the top 20 tips for a positive new year. Happy New Year and enjoy the show!

In this gripping episode, we sample some fine Kilchomen single malt and try the Dos Campeones Corajes. We aso take our turns listing our Top 5 cigars and scotches for newbies and experienced connoisseurs. Listen to Ren espouse his wisdom of the cigar trade while Jon and Dan try to weasel more cigars. Episode 26 - From Palates To Trannies! Bruichladdich 10yr is sipped and Dos Compeones are smoked while we talk about the nuances of training your palate to appreciate the good stuff.  Our friend Eric from Stogiesontherocks.com offers some great advice on palate awareness, and we need all the help we can get.  Later, we dive deeper on the Bruichladdich bottle and talk about difficult transitions(trannies) in the workplace and how to get through them. Scotch would help but is generally frowned upon during those occasions.  But still... Keep to the right. Seriously

Jon's science experiment comes to fruition as we reclaim several cigars from months of re-humidification. While saving the Kristoff torpedo and the Romeo y Julieta 1875 from the trash heap, we enjoy a fine dram or three of Bunnahabhain 12yr. Good stuff. Then the guys head into remembering what they are thankful these days, which includes classic music videos on YouTube, being an efficient rubber nipple salesperson, and blasting the tunes out of the back of crappy cars. Come along kiddies, we just replaced the shocks.

We once had a dram, or should I say, we once had three... The guys get back in the groove after a short absence from the podcast work with a dram or three of Auchentoshan Triple Wood single malt and a nice Cuenca Y Blanco stick. We discuss at length the benefits of drinking at work and the subsequent vast improvement in meetings and issue resolution. Also, Jon shares with us his 10 foot Sphere of Influence theory. And when I awoke, I was alone, this dram had flown So I lit a fire, isn't it good, triple wood.

Jon and Dan, still stranded in Detroit, finally get down to business at the CLE bar and order several drams of Balvenie 12 yr to go along with a CLE Corona. They then learn that they are being accosted by the Irish gangster, "Jimmy" and his lackey and try to figure out how to get into his suite at the big game. Needless to say, they get nowhere and reside themselves to the fact Jon hates John Cougar Mellencamp and people with names on the their backs. Watch out. Jimmys comin'!

Jon and Dan the show on the road - literally, talking about everything besides paying attention to the drive. On there way to the World Series, the guys wax nostalgic about Phoebe Cates, insane road trips of the past, and filling mysterious containers up with bodily fluids. Hey, what else are you going to do with your time on the road if you can't herf or scotch it up? All preservatives at the bottom of the cup. Patent Pending.

Jon and Dan finally turn "legal" in this episode as the boys swallow some Ardbeg 10yr and Laphroig Small Cask while trying the new Don Sixto Robusto by Placencia. Also on the show, Dan and Jon discuss the impact of Henry Kissinger, with wig and without. Then they take a look at the art of relaxing and debating future predictions from the past looking at the present(?). Finally, they learn that chewing tobacco can and will save your life.
