McMurrin Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Utah. Her research covers topics such as the history of Heaven, Vatican II, material culture, and now, Mormon women. In this conversation, McDannell talks about the impact Mormon women had on the creation of parallel organizations in the Church, the legacy of Helen Andelin and Sonia Johnson, and the impact correlation had on women in Mormonism. He has handled securities cases for twenty five years, including civil lawsuits, FINRA arbitrations, IRS, CFTC and SEC whistleblower cases, Ponzi schemes, and receivership litigation including clawback cases. Mr. Pugsley also frequently handles civil enforcement actions and regulatory investigations brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Utah Division of Securities, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). He has handled shareholder disputes, class actions and shareholder derivative actions involving private and publicly-traded companies. Mr. Pugsley was elected to a three year term as a Commissioner of the Utah State Bar (Third District) in 2018 and is the chair of the Securities Litigation Group at Ray Quinney & Nebeker. This is your brain on God. John Larsen interviews Neuroradiologist Jeff Anderson about his study of the religious brain. Jeffrey S. Anderson, MD, PhD directs the fMRI Neurosurgical Mapping Service and is Principal Investigator for the Utah Functional Neuroimaging Laboratory. Dr. Anderson’s lab studies brain networks using functional imaging techniques such as fMRI, diffusion tensor imaging, and magnetoencephalography. Karrie Galloway, president, CEO, Planned Parenthood Association of Utah Rebecca Chandler, LDS mother of eight children, Co-editor, Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought     Abstract: In 1999, a new LDS church policy gave Mormons significant freedom. For the first time in 170 years, birth control is officially a completely personal decision. This paper compares the new 1998-99 policy on birth control with previous official policies in 1989, 1976, and 1969. Other historical views on LDS birth control and childbearing are reviewed. The benefits of the new birth control and childbearing are reviewed. The benefits of the new birth control policy are explored, while the effects of previous policies are also considered. Statements from parents will share how past birth control policies after their lives. The year 2000 also marks the 40th anniversary of the Pill, the first time in history when women could safely and effectively control childbearing by taking the pill. It also marked 30 years of Planned Parenthood in Utah. However, many divisions exist among these current practitioners of plural marriage. One important area of contrast concerns the keys sealing restored through Joseph Smith.
