This week, The Session celebrates National Mead Day with Curt Stock and Susan Ruud! Whether you're looking to really dial in your existing meadmaking skills, try your hand it, or if you're wondering what in the world is M-E-A-D, this is the show for you. Curt's skill earned him the 2005 Meadmaker of the Year award, and Susan heads the Prairie Rose Meadery, which will be the newest entry into the commercial meadery market when it opens later this year.

This week, The Session does its second-ever public broadcast live from The Hop Grenade, and who better to help celebrate this momentous time than old friend Shaun O'Sullivan of the 21st Amendment Brewery. Sully infiltrates the studio with kegs of his brewery's contribution to Ales for ALS, Loftus Ranches and Hopunion's awesome program benefiting ALS TDI, the world's leader in ALS research. The BN celebrates The Hop Grenade's opening day with the guys behind Berkeley, California's The Rare Barrel. This week The Session hosts the first of two episodes live from the 2014 National Homebrewers Conference! We hear from Crankers Brewery about their BN collaboration beer, White Labs about their new yeast technology, and so much more from Grand Rapids.

This week marks the final broadcast before the BN moves to The Hop Grenade! Tune in and help say goodbye to Studio DD with the Brewcasters as House Of Pendragon Brewing Company founder/brewmaster Tommy Caprelian joins the BN crew for one last show from our beloved downtown Martinez digs. Fresh off the opening of his new taproom just east of Fresno, California, Tommy shares his epic journey that began with a History Channel beer documentary in 2006. That sparked a homebrewing habit that has, after nearly eight years, led to a Central Valley cult following and the founding HOP in 2013.

This week, as the BN crew gears up for the National Homebrewers Conference in Grand Rapids, filmmaker Kevin Romeo joins The Session to discuss The Michigan Beer Film. A documentary highlighting the economic and artistic development of the Michigan craft beer industry, it will introduce you to the brewers, farmers, and consumers who are spearheading the movement's explosive growth. Tune in and catch a conversation with Kevin, coverage of a Tasty/Nate collaboration beer with Adam Mills of Cranker's Brewery, a Brewcaster Challenge update, and much more.

This week, the crew of Oregon's Base Camp Brewing Company joins the Brewcasters in-studio. Tune in and learn about Base Camp's unconventional approach to styles and recipes, as we taste and discuss offerings such as their Imperial Altbier, Red Lager, Wheat Wine and more.
