The Night I Met Confusion - From Theatre in the Dark Productions

This week we feature John Keck's "Theatre in the Dark" Productions, a fresh new entry to the audio drama scene with crisp production values, high-concept stories and sultry sounds and music. Of this week's tale, "The Night I Met Confusion" he writes: [It's] about a man that goes to a blues bar on a Friday night. As Derrick sits there enjoying his beer as he has so many times before, he notices a woman of sorts moving through the room in a way he has never seen. It’s almost as if she floats through the room. Speaking to many, it’s as if none really see her. Coming to whisper in his ear, Confusion is surprised that Derrick can see her. This has never happened in her time of service with the Master. Derrick finds out her name is Confusion and what follows is there conversation. She tells him what she is and how she and her best friend “Lust” will often cause chaos in the lives of those that come to the 411 on a Friday night. The Sting of the Dark Tower - All Episodes

Thanks to Alicia Goranson (The Mask Of Inanna) for encouraging Peter Gruenbaum to submit this delightful re-imagining of an apocryphal work by C.S. Lewis, "The Sting of the Dark Tower" (not to be confused with Stephen King's Dark Tower!). C.S. Lewis is invited to visit a lab in 1940’s Cambridge England where he is shown a device called a “chronoscope” that does to time what a telescope does to space. The chronoscope shows strange images of a dark tower ruled by men with stingers on their foreheads. An accident with the machine results in minds being switched between Cambridge and the dark tower. In the present, a precocious teenager and her mysterious nanny explore and ultimately complete this work of fiction that was discovered after C.S. Lewis’s death. The Sting of the Dark Tower asks the questions: How are Lewis’s ideas relevant to today? How might the story have been written if it had our modern viewpoint? Voiced by professional actors and with an original score for classical saxophone quartet, The Sting of the Dark Tower will take you back in time, sideways in time, and perhaps get you to think about who are our own men with stingers. Desperate for help and companionship, Oppenheimer kidnaps Mike Wilkinson (Michael McQuilkin), IT guy by day and indie filmmaker by night. Together, Oppenheimer and Mike travel to mysterious and exotic timelines in their quest to repair the Hadron Rift and restore order to the multiverse. Oh, and to produce a podcast.
