We discuss all manner of topics including sports, entertainment, politics, and current events. Sometimes we have a special segment such as an interview, a trivia game, a special guest, or a skit. We also provide plenty of "smart suggestions" that we feel will be enjoyed by the intellectual crowd.

In this episode Jim, Ben and Dean consider what happens when a reader or consumer has a falling out with a creator. In particular, they address the recent controversy surrounding Ender's Game writer Orson Scott Card. Do readers have a duty to spurn the work, even if they enjoy it? What is a fan's moral obligation? Are you fit? Did your phone help get that way? This week’s focus is on the different pieces of hardware and software that make you a fitter, healthier you. We provide you with our experiences using different apps and other pieces of technology to gives us feedback and make us healthier. We also answer a question of the week that probably should have been sent to “Dear Abby” instead and give you some (non-fitness) smart suggestions.
Our question of the week is a doozy - it involves Teddy Roosevelt, Natalie Portman, Dave Chapelle, Pete Holmes, and a Flamethrower. Come to think of it, that would be a kick-ass dinner party. The main segment focuses on the debate over legalizing medical marijuana (and marijuana in general) including a discussion over a recent article in the Detroit news about a legitimate businessman who is spending 3 years in prison for leasing space to medical marijuana growers despite believing he had done everything to the full letter of the law. Smart suggestions are included, as is an additional special smart suggestion segment. So make sure you stick around for the whole shebang!

Hey guys, this is a repost of a discussion we had with Paul (a.k.a., “The Skeptical Statistician”) about a series of posts he did on his blog attempting to quantify the differences between the old and new Star Wars trilogy. This repost comes on the wake of his kickstarter to turn those posts into an ebook. Please help him out if you can.
College. It’s all anyone ever seems to talk about! But has anyone ever been to college? The answer is still unclear and it certainly isn’t helped by Oregon’s plan to make attending college more affordable. Jim, Dean, Ben and Edward talk about Oregon’s new plan and just what is the point of college anyway.
The guys discuss whether or not most of our beloved historical figures were real assholes. Ed plays the straight man (the rest of the cast refuses to play along). Jim reports from Cairo, Ben has some words for LBJ, and Dean ponders the inaccuracies of historical musicals. Just to make up for the rest of the podcast the guys also give you 50% more smart suggestions for free (some cost money though).
After a little cinematic musing, Dean, Ben and Ed get on to the rather serious topic of guns and professional athletes. But fear not! We also wrap it up with smart suggestions and try to keep the conversation generally light.
