Will society ever rid itself of the stigma placed on homosexuals? Today we discuss a story involving Aaron Pace who admits to being noticeably effeminate but is heterosexual. After visiting Bio-Blood Components attempting to donate blood he was told he could not donate because he "appeared to be a homosexual". An outdated law that was upheld in 2010 states "current FDA rules dictate that any man who has had sex with another man since 1977, even once, cannot donate blood. This rule has been in place since the early 1980s, when there were no tests in existence for identifying HIV-positive blood. Concerns about HIV tainting the blood supply prompted this policy, viewed as a safety measure." Current law requires all donated blood to be tested for HIV and other infectious diseases. Bio-Blood has refused comment on the matter. We'd like to hear what you have to say on this issue. Email us at cruisincripslive@aol.com with your thoughts.

The more shows we do, the more we see how misunderstood the disabled community is. Today we discuss Nevada's Clark County $150,000 settlement with a claustrophobic woman who said working in a cubicle caused her severe anxiety. Anxiety disorders are listed under the ADA but are often viewed as temporary, and the law covered only conditions deemed permanent according to Robert Spretnak, an attorney who specializes in employment law. We also discuss The Legal Center for People with Disabilities and Older People, who filed a complaint with Colorado's Douglass County department's Civil Rights Division, citing violations of federal laws governing the treatment of students with disabilities, including the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Join us as we discuss the possibility of the U.S. Government cutting Medicaid and Social Security, and what that could mean for the elderly and disabled in the coming months. Does the government have the ability to cut these programs to keep our country from incurring more debt, or is this simply a scare tactic by the administration? It's a monumental day for the disabilities community, as Americans with disabilities and their families meet with White House officials to discuss how Medicaid has benefited them and provided them with resources they may otherwise be forced to go without. We also take a look at a Canton special needs school which uses shock therapy on children. A plan by Governor Deval Patrick to ban the practice of shock therapy is argued to violate a longstanding court order.
