5/11/2014 Aaron Cadieux, Christopher Balzano and the Bridgewater Triangle Documentary | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4519

***Due to technical issues during the start of the show, the first 30 minutes of the show did not record, however the entire interview with Aaron Cadieux and Christopher Balzano is recorded for your listening enjoyment. We apologize for any inconvenience.*** Eric, Lon and Sean return to one of the most mysterious places in the world, the Bridge Water Triangle. We welcome Documentary Film Maker and co-director Aaron Cadieux and Paranormal Investigator and Author Christopher Balzano to the show to discuss the Bridgewater Trinagle Documentary, what went into filming the documentary and some of the history and mystery behind the area known as the Bridgewater Triangle. The Bridgewater Triangle sits within the Southeastern portion of Massachusetts, and includes a number of locations known for unexplained occurrences; the most prominent of which include the legendary Hockomock Swamp and the infamous Freetown-Fall River State Forest. The triangle’s traditional boarders are revealed by connecting the dots between the town of Abington to the North, the town of Freetown to the Southeast, and the town of Rehoboth to the Southwest. The area hosts an unusually high volume of reports involving strange happenings, baffling mysteries and sinister deeds. From ghostly hauntings and cryptic animal sightings, to UFO encounters and evidence of satanic ritual sacrifice, the Bridgewater Triangle serves as one of the world’s most diverse hotspots for paranormal activity. The first-ever feature-length documentary on the subject, The Bridgewater Triangle explores the history of this fascinating region. The film features a number of local residents providing first-hand accounts of unexplained occurrences. In addition, an all-star assembly of paranormal researchers, folklorists and authors provide expert analysis regarding the many mysteries of the triangle. Aaron Cadieux, Co-Director Aaron Cadieux is an award-winning documentary filmmaker from Dartmouth, Massachusetts. In 2003, he produced and directed a 30-minute documentary titled, Inside The Bridgewater Triangle. The experience inspired him to someday produce and direct a feature-length documentary on the same subject. In 2010, he teamed up with filmmaker Manny Famolare to begin production on The Bridgewater Triangle. Cadieux also owns and operates Bristol County Media LLC (and its subdivision Big Operations Productions) a company specializing in video production services. As the Co-Director of The Bridgewater Triangle, Aaron combines his extensive experience in documentary film making and video production with his love for Halloween and things that go bump in the night. Chris Balzano Paranormal researcher and author Chris Balzano has been investigating paranormal activity in the New England region for a number of years. Recently, Balzano released two books detailing accounts of paranormal activity within the Bridgewater Triangle. 2007’s Dark Woods: Cults, Crime, and the Paranormal in the Freetown State Forest, and 2008’s Ghosts of the Bridgewater Triangle, are two informative sources for readers interested in learning more about the Bridgewater Triangle.  5/4/2014 Christopher O'Brien Stalking The Herd | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 6546

Eric, Lon & Sean as we welcome our colleague, paranormal researcher Christopher O'Brien to 'Beyond The Edge' Radio. Since 1992, Christopher O'Brien has investigated over one thousand paranormal events reported in the San Luis Valley--located in South-central Colorado/North Central New Mexico. Working with law enforcement officials, ex-military, ranchers and an extensive network of skywatchers, from 1992 to 2002 he documented one of the most intense waves of unexplained activity ever reported from a single geographic region of North America. His ten-year investigation resulted in the three books of his "mysterious valley" trilogy, The Mysterious Valley Enter the Valley: UFOs, Religious Miracles, Cattle Mutilations, and Other Unexplained Phenomena in the San Luis Valley and Secrets of the Mysterious Valley His meticulous field investigation of UFO reports, unexplained livestock deaths, Native American legends, cryptozoology, secret military activity and the folklore, found in the world's largest alpine valley, has produced one of the largest databases of unusual occurrences gathered from a single geographic region. His next book Stalking the Tricksters: Shapeshifters, Skinwalkers, Dark Adepts and 2012 distills his years of field investigation and research into an ingenious unified paranormal theory that is sure to create intense interest and controversy. His most recent book Stalking the Herd: Unraveling the Cattle Mutilation Mystery addresses questions on who or what is behind cattle mutilations. It also offers an objective look at the history of our venerated relationship with cattle, among the first domesticated livestock. Is there a connection between these ritualistic cattle deaths and humankind's ancient practice of animal sacrifice? Why are there no Brahman cattle mutilations in India where cattle are revered to this day? Are aliens gathering genetic material for unknown purposes? What about the thousands of pounds of scientific forensic evidence? Are some hidden sections of the military conducting secret projects that--for some reason known only to them--involve the mutilation of hundreds of livestock and other warm-blooded animals. Are they monitoring the spread of "mad cow" disease? Stalking the Herd is an in-depth examination and analysis of this complex, multi-layered mystery and this book scrutinizes the various explanations that have been proposed over the years and proposes new theories that have chilling implications. Stalking the Herd is now available from Chris' website www.ourstrangeplanet.com.

 4/6/2014 Sylvia Shults | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 6497

This week Eric, Lon and Amy welcome Sylvia Shults to the program. Sylvia Shults has been a paranormal investigator for several years. She began her career as a ghost hunter as a result of doing the research for her nonfiction book Ghosts of the Illinois River (Quixote Press, 2010). Her fascination with ghosts dates back to her childhood, as she is an avid reader who was raised on Grimm’s Fairy Tales. A few years ago, Shults was inspired to write a collection of people’s supernatural experiences at the Peoria State Hospital in Bartonville, Illinois. This project quickly swelled into Fractured Spirits: Hauntings at the Peoria State Hospital. The book incorporates the history of the asylum as well as the many ghost stories that have arisen out of the asylum’s abandonment. In an effort to separate fact from fiction, Shults thoroughly explores the true history of the hospital. “It’s fascinating,” she says. “The Peoria State Hospital was a place of great advances in mental health care. Was there agony there? I don’t doubt it. Mental illness is an agonizing thing. So is alcoholism. So is TB. But that’s not nearly the whole story of this remarkable institution. There was also incredible tenderness and caring. Dr. George Zeller was responsible for unprecedented reforms in the field of mental health care. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to write a book that not only tells some really unnerving ghost tales, but also the true stories of Dr. Zeller and his dedicated staff.” Fractured Spirits: Hauntings at the Peoria State Hospital is a result of years of research. Shults spoke to dozens of people who have had paranormal experiences at the abandoned asylum. She has also done many investigations of her own. The book, and Shults’ research, was featured on an episode of Ghost Hunters (“Prescription for Fear”, which aired January 30, 2013). Shults lives in Illinois with her husband. She works at the Fondulac District Library, mostly in order to feed her book addiction. She also serves as the Publicity Director for Dark Continents Publishing. In addition to nonfiction, she also writes romance and horror. She is the first to admit that there is a fine line between the two. "Sylvia Shults's FRACTURED SPIRITS is a fascinating, touching, creepy, riveting read -- a sort of Central Illinois Ghost Adventures -- set in the defunct chambers of the Peoria State Hospital. Shults is a natural story-teller, and she gets at something deeper and more poignant here than mere phantoms..." - Jay Bonansinga, New York Times bestselling co-author of THE WALKING DEAD: THE ROAD TO WOODBURY www.sylviashults.com and www.darkcontinents.com Visit www.facebook.com/FracturedSpirits for an interactive experience. Listen to EVPs, watch videos, and share your own ghost stories about the Peoria State Hospital!
