From the FUV Vault: Lord Huron | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:00

From 2012: Named after a Great Lake from their home state of Michigan, the guys from Lord Huron now call LA home, but frontman and songwriter Ben Schneider keeps his modern prairie roots alive on the band's terrific debut album, 'Lonesome Dreams.' Among the critical praise it's earned is FUV's Alisa Ali picking 'Time To Run' for her 'Top 10 Songs of 2012' list, and they shared a few other tunes during a recent visit with Alisa at FUV.

From the FUV Vault: Jeff Tweedy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:00

From 2005: The history of Wilco seems to involve as much band drama as music, and back in 2005, frontman Jeff Tweedy set the record straight on which takes priority during a chat with host Claudia Marshall at FUV.

From the FUV Vault: Neko Case | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:00

From 2009: A little bit country, a little bit rock 'n roll, and a lot obsessed with tornadoes — Neko Case returned in 2009 with the album 'Middle Cyclone.' The sounds on the record are about as varied as the lyrical content but her unmistakable voice ties it all together, along with the help of an impressive list of musical friends. Hear more about the record and how a few of the songs sound acoustically, in this session from the FUV archives with Neko and host Claudia Marshall.

From the FUV Vault: Bobby Long | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:00

From 2010: Singer and songwriter Bobby Long grew up in a family of musicians, and after resisting music for awhile, he ended up as part of the London folk scene. He also made a friend in actor Robert Pattinson, whose success and performance in 'Twilight' translated to success for Long too. Get more of the story as Bobby Long talks with Alisa Ali in Studio A about his album, 'A Winter Tale.'

From the FUV Vault: Indigo Girls | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:00

From 2011: Amy Ray and Emily Saliers headed to Nashville and reunited with producer Peter Collins to make the Indigo Girls' album 'Beauty Queen Sister,' and headed to NYC to perform a few of the songs in FUV's Studio A, joined by host Darren DeVivo.

From the FUV Vault: Feist | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5:36

From 2011: Four years after her breakthrough album, 'The Reminder,' Feist returned with 'Metals' - a batch of songs featuring Feist's distinct brand of songcraft in a starker setting. In the setting of our Studio A, she and her band (including the trio Mountain Man) performed a few of the songs and talked with FUV's Russ Borris.

From the FUV Vault: Local Natives | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5:00

From 2009: Local Natives discovered each other in Los Angeles, but as they told The Alternate Side's Alisa Ali, it took a small show in a British bike shop to get them discovered by the music world. They stopped by Studio-A to show off the harmonies, orchestral melodies, and Afro-pop sound featured on their debut, ‘Gorilla Manor.’

From the FUV Vault: Calexico | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4:44

From 2012: With influences from Mexican music and Western Americana, the Tuscon-based band Calexico has been weaving their 'desert noir' soundscape for almost 20 years now. Their eighth album, 'Algiers,' was inspired by New Orleans, where it was recorded. To celebrate its release, the band performed an FUV Live set at Hill Country Live here in NYC, and host Dennis Elsas had a chance to talk with Joey Burns about why the band decided on New Orleans and how they all balance being in Calexico with a long list of other projects.

From the FUV Vault: KT Tunstall | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4:53

From 2010: KT Tunstall made a name for herself playing acoustic music, at one point even touring with a klezmer band. On her album, 'Tigersuit,' she worked with Artic Monkeys' producer Jim Abbis to go down a dancier more electronic road, which she talked about with WFUV's Kara Manning.

From the FUV Vault: JJ Grey | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5:31

From 2011: Whether you call their sound Southern swamp rock or Florida swamp soul, hear JJ Grey (minus Mofro) perform songs from the band's album 'Georgia Warhorse' during a conversation with host Claudia Marshall.

From the FUV Vault: Patty Griffin | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4:41

From 1997: Acclaimed singer-songwriter Patty Griffin was in debut record territory in 1997 when she made her first visit to WFUV, but her big voice and equally powerful songs made quite an impact. Today we go back to the archives to hear tunes from 'Living With Ghosts' performed live, as Patty talks with host Ben Soper.

From the FUV Vault: Aaron Neville | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4:38

From 2012: Aaron Neville has lent his honeyed voice and lilting melodies to over 50 years of songs, and now he brings that special tone to an album of doo-wop classics. Produced by Don Was and Keith Richards, it's called 'My True Story,' and host Rita Houston and an audience of FUV members were lucky enough to have Aaron himself stop by Studio A for a live preview, with that one-and-only voice.

From the FUV Vault: Ben Folds | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4:16

From 2006: Ben Folds brought back piano-based power pop in the mid-90s. Back in 2006, he was celebrating the release of a compilation called 'Supersunnyspeedgraphic: The LP' and stopped by WFUV for a visit with host Dennis Elsas.

From the FUV Vault: Bob Mould | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4:53

From 2012: Seasoned alt-rocker Bob Mould looked back over this three-and-a-half decades on stage in his 2011 autobiography, 'See a Little Light: The Trail of Rage and Melody,' and he returned to his signature, power-trio sound on his latest album, 'Silver Age.' On a visit to FUV with his band (Jason Narducy and Jon Wurster), Bob talked with host Darren DeVivo about struggles, self-expression, and the variety of projects that keep him satisfied. And, he turned up the volume to perform some paint-peeling live tunes too.

From the FUV Vault: We Are Augustines | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5:13

From 2011: We Are Augustines rose out of the ashes of the band Pela. In fact, the songs on the album, 'Rise Ye Sunken Ships' were actually meant to be Pela's sophomore album, so when We Are Augustines stopped by FUV, they talked to The Alternate Side's Alisa Ali about their musical path, and played some live songs too.
