The present day Boycott of Israeli goods will eventually bring about the end of the occupation of Palestine. Now is the time to spread the campaign of boycotting Israel to achieve human rights for all in the Holy Land.

Puerto Rico remains a U.S. commonwealth today, one step up from slavery. In fact, the magnificent ruins of Spanish occupation are a constant reminder of how prosperous the island nation once was.

Maybe like MLK, Nelson Mandela was able to see the promised land but not able in his lifetime to bring his people there. Black South Africans have the trappings of democracy, but like Blacks in the US, they still lack economic and social justice.

Dr. Spock lead several revolutions in his lifetime. His first campaign was for a humanist based childcare. The second involved his fight against nuclear weapons, and the third was a refusal to let a generation of Spock babies go off to fight an immoral war against the Vietnamese.

How long must Black Americans be denied their rightful place in the prosperity that they have helped this nation to create? Slavery is gone, but not the pervasive racism and economic injustice that such a system engendered.

Misuse of governmental power by a president is a strong indictment. Congress should act to investigate and impeach Donald Trump, the most blatant violator of governmental power the nation has ever seen.

Very soon, the federal government sent troops to break the strikes, and the judiciary sentenced the union leaders to six months in prison for the charge of conspiring to halt the free flow of mail.

Marshall considered himself part of the white power structure in America, as did Barack Obama. Did their public service actually help Black people? Only a more honest look at the Jim Crow history of our nation can provide these answers.

Dick Gregory was one of those Black leaders who focused on crossover issues like Indigenous rights, South African apartheid, and prison reform. Like all great leaders in the 1960s, he was color blind when it came to standing up for human rights.

Memorial Day started as a tribute to all soldiers, in the hope that young men and women would never have to die again in the future. How idealistic that seems to be now as the U.S. conducts wars all over the globe, sending its troops to fight and die for oil, gas, uranium, and gold.

US trained and funded death squads committed these horrible murders and would go on to kill tens of thousands more, all under the direction of Elliott Abrams, the State Department point man on Central America during the Reagan administration.

The real change in 50 years is that the very rich have greatly increased their percentage of all wealth, leaving both the poor and the middle class with an ever decreasing share of the economic pie. And Black families have lost the most of all.

Originally formed to consolidate US power after WWII, the United Nations never had much of a chance. Located right in the middle of the largest city of the empire, it has always been subject to the whims of US military and corporate power.
