While in school, our guest needed a job with a flexible schedule in order to work around his college classes.  With the help from his family, he purchased his first “black car” a Lincoln Town Car in late 2007. As he quickly learned the potential of the black car business, Ron Gil founded Sedanz and never looked back.  Ron wanted to make sure each chauffeur would treat Sedanz clients the way he would treat them, providing that next level, personal touch, to every ride. And while Sedanz operates out of New York City, their fleet reaches beyond the tri-state area. They have secured trips for their clients in all major cities such as Los Angeles, Boston, London, Paris, Stockholm and beyond. And Ron’s with us tonight to tell his story, about  a young entrepreneur who at the time did not know where his black car gig would take him.

Jon Summers is the Motoring Historian. He was a company car thrashing technology sales rep that turned into a fairly inept sports bike rider. Hailing from California, he collects cars and bikes built with plenty of ”cheap and fast” and not much reliable. On his show he gets together with various co-hosts to talk about new and old cars, driving, motorbikes, motor racing, motoring travel.

On Ferrari Friday’s, William Ross from the Exotic Car Marketplace will be discussing all things Ferrari and interviewing people that live and breathe the Ferrari brand. Topics range from road cars to racing; drivers to owners, as well as auctions, private sales and trends in the collector market. Dr. Timothy Robeers is currently working as a research & marcom manager at b2sense in Brussels, Belgium. Following a career in academia, he remains affiliated with the Department of Communication Sciences at Antwerp University, Belgium and combines extensive expertise in market and communication research, social and environmental sustainability, and their applications in motorsports and media. Besides having participated as a driver and team-owner in rally raids across Africa, Dr. Robeers has also consulted for a range of motorsport businesses and organizations including Formula E and the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). Additionally, he is a co-founder and assistant editor for the Journal of Motorsport Culture & History. Mike Stocz is a senior lecturer of Sport Management & Leadership at the University of New Hampshire. He is one of the founding members and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Motorsport Culture & History. Mike’s previous works have included a bottom up framing analysis of the Tony Stewart-Kevin Ward Jr. incident on Facebook, as well as explorations of legal issues in K-12 sport administration, an economic funding model for college athletics, and a textual analysis of the American Outlaws fan group in the digital space. Kate Sullivan is an assistant professor in Strategy & Enterprise in Scotland’s Heriot-Watt University, where she teaches a range of entrepreneurship and management courses as well as conducts research as a well-being and performance psychologist. She has also worked in the classic car industry for more than a decade. Ms. Sullivan personally holds several regional land-speed records. In the roundtable, she explores the forgotten history of alternative power vehicles in motorsport, demonstrating that the current concerns over the environmental impacts of auto racing - and the attendant hand-wringing over its future - are far from new. Showing how alternative power vehicles have been part of society’s need for speed from the beginning, she will suggest how to harness this worry to instead create new buzz for racing. Dr. Mario Felice Tecce received his M.D. and PhD. at the University of Naples, Italy, and is currently full professor of Biochemistry at University of Salerno. Besides his molecular research about cancer mechanisms, he explored race car driving as a major reference paradigm of pursuing the best and of free will exercise. Our guest has had her class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) since 2008.  She has logged thousands of highway miles driving across the country.  Some of those include the snow-covered passes of Montana with a loaded 52 foot trailer during winter testing.  She has also been trained and qualified to drive on the durability test track at the Bosch Automotive Proving Grounds as well as the track at the PACCAR Technical Center.   In addition to her training Keri Weishaar co-drove with Hollywood stunt driver and then 16-year Pikes Peak International Hill Climb competitor Mike Ryan at the 2010 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and today finds herself designing safety equipment for Trophy Girl Designs, and she’s here to tell us all about her automotive journey. Many people will agree that moving public services to general availability is a good idea and creates mass convenience, but it also opens up new attack and data collection vectors in places we had never expected. There are so many seemingly innocuous data fragments out in the wild… Data from systems that we take for granted each day as we move more-and-more connected services and devices “to the cloud.”  Which means, as Cyber Security Professionals, we must remain vigilant about how we protect these tools, services, and even our automobiles which have a direct correlation to protecting individuals, families and their privacy. We need to consider how seemingly innocent and disparate systems could be linked together through common data points to create a vulnerability. ”He’s nice. He likes cars, and he’s mad about you. I rest my case.” - says Tom Branson to Lady Mary about Henry Talbot. Initially, I figured… meh! - Downton Abbey is going to be some stuffy pre-war British soap drama, it’ll be just OK, I’ll give it an episode or two. But I found myself rather enamored by all aspects of it. The show has its moments of exaggerated drama and bits of upstairs/downstairs… but each episode is packed and feels like a separate movie and not a serial or episodic story.
