We are believers in people, ideas and the power of communication. This podcast is rooted in philosophical theory, as well as real experience and cultural appearence, to be affirmed or challenged throughout our conversations. We are not trying to change your mind. We only express what we believe as we do not claim to know. Along the way, we try to show how wonderful you are, in case you forget it and share with you our doubts and wonderings. Disagree? Femlore Podcast (formally Feminist Folklore)Join Now to Follow

Folklore has been used for generations to share stories across cultures. Each week this season Rachael and her new co-host, Mindy, walk the winding path of folklore. They ask how the stories we tell influence today’s culture and how we view women. From murder ballads to fairytales, we discuss the power these stories have over us all. It won’t be just sad but maybe, just maybe, also uplifting. We are coming back to the podcast airwaves in April 2020.

Yarra Institute for Religion and Social Policy show

Yarra Institute for Religion and Social PolicyJoin Now to Follow

The Yarra Institute for Religion and Social Policy is an independent, ecumenical organisation established to conduct research into the implications of Christian social thinking for formulating public policy in Australia, and to teach Christian social thinking and its implications for public policy in Australia. In pursuit of its mission the YIRSP explores how the social values embedded in the Scriptures can shed light on how to tackle current challenges to human wellbeing, including; -issues of global poverty and hunger, -indigenous issues, -violence and peacemaking, -sustaining the environment, and -refugees and asylum seeker. The Yarra Institute works collaboratively with other organisations to shed light on problems facing us, and particularly through its research and publications to suggest better ways of doing things. As well as commissioning research, we develop and teach courses on the Christian social traditions and how they bear on contemporary social and economic issues. We also foster more vigorous conversation among the various Christian traditions about their engagements with social issues. And we endeavour to broaden this conversation with people from other philosophical and religious traditions about enhancing human wellbeing for everyone on our planet.

Spirituality for the Politically Incorrect show

Spirituality for the Politically IncorrectJoin Now to Follow

Hi, I'm Nancy Showalter. And this podcast is for you if you instinctively know that there is more to life than what you have been taught and you're not afraid to explore beyond conventional belief systems. Remember how everyone thought the world was flat and if you challenged that you were crazy? Or how people said if we were meant to fly God would give us wings? What about, "civilization is only four thousand years old," but science tells us differently? Very few of us are living to our fullest potential. I believe that is because most of us do not access the divinity within--the part that is one with our Creator. And how do we do that? That, and more, is what this podcast is all about.
