Development Lessons from Conflict and Post-Conflict Zones Growing a Country in the Midst of Crisis

BC Council for International Cooperation show

Summary: In collaboration with Mennonite Central Committee, Food for the Hungry, CIDA, BC Council for International Cooperation and the University of the Fraser Valley. Three expert panelists present some hard-won lessons from their experiences of the successes and failures of implementing sustainable development initiatives within a context of violence, natural disaster, political unrest, etc. This is not a presentation about emergency aid, but rather the reconstruction and aftermath of building peace, security, infrastructure and capacity during or after a crisis. The panelists are from Mennonite Central Committee, Food for the Hungry Canada and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
