Summary: Fan and fitness enthusiast Carol joins Jake to discuss a new take on New Years resolutions. Welcome to the Fat2FitHQ podcast. I’m your host Jake Challand from GunGuyRadio and here we plan to chronicle our journeys from Fat to Fit.  We’ll talk about pursuing a healthier lifestyle not only in diet, but in all areas of life. Carol's bio/intro: Carol Salva is fitness enthusiast from Houston, Texas.   She is a 44 year old wife and mother of three young children.  After years of struggling with weight gain, Carol was successful at reaching her weightloss and fitness goals in 2010 when she participated in a national fitness competition.  Later that year she was featured as a Success Story in Health & Fitness magazine.  Carol has maintained a healthy weight for over two years and has adopted a healthier lifestyle for herself and her family.  When time allows, she participates mud runs, mountain biking, kayaking, trail running and Adventure Racing. http://www.healthandfitnessmag.com/magazine-sections/fitness-and-exercise/success-story-14 Topic:  Resolve Positive mindset Believing we happen to things and we choose how we react to circumstances and how we feel about those circumstances. Our habits are completely at our command In control of our thoughts inside the circumstances. We may need to break out of our conditioning(upbringing).  Trained or brought up to think negatively. Truth is you can be anyone you want to be. Emotion we feel is usually result of our programming. Feeling is real but source is a lie. Who told you that, why do you believe that, why do you do that? Optimism is a habit Being glass half full is a habit. Focus on what you're doing right!  And expand, move forward. Life will move in the direction you're thinking. So think in a positive direction with positive goals.  Believe in those and they will began to transpire as you move forward. Don't focus on self critique. Ty Clark:  That fixed it, thanks! Just listened to the last episode. I emailed you guys back in July, a month into my journey. I'm now down 47 pounds from 240 to 193. All from only a change in diet. Listening to Zach tell stories about how much weight he gained every time he went to Olive Garden definitely helped motivate me to stay away! I wish you guys luck and look forward to the new episodes. Angela:  Hi Guys I just got caught up with all your podcasts today (was missing Zack on that last episode!) And I feel so much more motivated.  I also have fallen off the wagon (though later in the year than you guys since it's already December). So while some of these comments are from months ago I think it's worth knowing! 1 - In keeping with the "lifestyle" theme - a great book & quick read you may want to check out is Dean Dwyer's Make Shift Happen.  He also has a great website, 2 podcasts and is quite entertaining.  He runs in the paleo-sphere, but it's much more than what you eat. 2 - If you have a cast iron pan and wash it with water (which I do) you need to make sure you heat dry it so it's doesn't rust!  You can't just leave it to air dry.  I put mine back on the burner to get the water off.  You can also season it extra yourself (which I do every so often) by placing it in the oven at 300 for 60 mins or so after you've wiped it well with oil 3 - Zack - maybe you need a Julia Roberts experiment with eggs!  I kept hearing you say you don't like eggs, but every time you tried them it seemed you only tried scrambled.
