Summary: Banff area bears may be hard to spot. If you are lucky, you may see one...or even a small family of bears. But that may be a gamble. (You'll probably see many more beautiful elk - instead :). Therefore, if you'd like to see a bear (for almost sure :), consider the Kicking Horse Grizzly Bear Refuge - the resident grizzly bear Boo. The Refuge is about 2 hours west from Banff - in Golden - British Columbia. Weather and season permitting, as Boo wanders through his territory, you may be as lucky as we were - and bring home awesome bear videos and pictures.
