Episode 6: Hurricane Pick-Me-Up at the New Canaan Library

In Too Steep show

Summary: After I returned from Wellesley, my 24-hour stay in my hometown of New Canaan, CT turned into a week and a half without power and no way to get back to New York. Every day, I spent my afternoon at the New Canaan Library, a place where I had essentially grown up and discovered my love of reading. After a few days, it was clear that the power outages were wearing people down, so I approached the library staff and asked if I could host a coloring break for an hour and interview people about their experiences. What I got was a snapshot of a warm and welcoming place, and I am thankful to Jessica Zimmer for providing her hilarious Dancezilla for us to color. Special thanks to the New Canaan Library for providing New Canaan residents with warmth, wi-fi, and good spirits, and my guests for making my week a whole lot brighter.
