It’s the latest tool in the arsenal of study against disease. It’s known as high throughput screening, or HTS. Developed by the pharmaceutical industry in the late 1980s, research scientists around the globe are now using it to find new uses for old drugs and if current progress is any indication, it will be responsible for hundreds of new therapies in the near future.
