Summary: In this month's podcast, lead author Cheryl Rodgers, PhD, RN, CPNP, CPON, addresses these questions and presents implications for oncology nurses as she discusses her March 2012 ONF article "Children's Coping Strategies for Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea and Vomiting." Previous research investigating the frequency and duration of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) in pediatric patients with cancer has been limited. This descriptive study not only evaluates frequency, duration, and distress of CINV but also expands upon previous research. With a greater understanding of this chemotherapy symptom experience, effective management strategies can be developed for this patient population.
